After the boring ass arc with his ex-wife, House becomes "I can get away with doing and saying completely wild and zany shit because I am le smart man. Also I'm grumpy and an addict" the show. Unfortunately there are so many great episodes, character arcs, and season arcs throughout the rest of the series that you have to accept that it goes from "patient/illness of the week" format to "What wild thing is House gonna do today? He drove a monster truck to the hospital? He's so random!"
