Why do gen x-ers hate this movie so much? It seemed like it was tailor-made for them.
>>218009301some people are hard to please, I guess
>>218009301It has too many references. It, like TFA, relies on paying homage to ANH rather than a couple nods but otherwise being its own thing>humble moisture farm life>dusty, rocky planet with trading outpost is tattooine copy #1305>quirky, british droid companion >CG Cushing and Fischer (this one was very egregious)>Red Squadron, stock footage of ANH red and gold team, basically everything involving that shitAnd then Vader. Of course fucking Vader has to be there. Worst part is, I wouldn't have minded much of he popped out for the hallway scene and only that scene but the stupid castle part was too much. I really want to know what it was like before rewrites and reshoots
>>218009502>It has too many referencesthey overdid the pandering? mayne
>>218009301You have to watch Andor to like this movie apparently.
>>218009301The characters were boring. They hired good actors and wasted them on a theme park ride.
>>218009301This is all you need.
>>218009301I don't understand how anyone can hate Rogue one, it is objectively a 6/10 movie. Any lower scores are just lies.
powerfully mid, and has a jeet in it
The Star Wars IP is so gigantic at this point in terms of scale and 'canon.' Why haven't its owners tried doing more with it aside from big narrative feature films? Why not a much cheaper comedy-drama or sitcom set within the IP with no real grand implications for the overall scheme of its universe?Imagine an Ally McBeal-style 'sit-dram' but in the Star Wars IP. No big wars or battles; just a law firm and the romantic entanglements of its lawyers. But within Star Wars. Something like that.
waiting for the sequel (rogue two)
>>218009301Because it came out when they weren't 9. If they were born in the late 2000s they'd love it too. Kind of like all the kids born in the late 2000s who got told by older family members and friends how good the movie was and internalized it.
>>218010700>Rogue One II: Rogue Two
>>218009301The main lead actress is complete dogshit at acting, or had bad direction idk. The epitome of wooden actor.
>>218009301Lead was a woman with a bunch of ethnics, it was DEI slop.
>>218011219>Lead was a woman with a bunch of ethnics, it was DEI slop.would it be better if they replaced Diego Luna with someone like Alan Ritchson?
> How do you do, fellow geezers
>>218010361Andor is so fucking good, the movie is like watching the unaired epilogue.
>>218010680Andor is basically that,
>>218009301putting jet li in it to do force kung fu, was out of place and fucking shittyGhost Dog seemed pretty wasted the movie not being about the bothans, missed opportunity the robot was the best part of the movie, not a good signhamfisting vader into the endblowing up jedah and not utilizing or doing anything cool with it, thus removing it from any future projects very abrams coded diversity codedwas heavily reshot, so we don't know if the original concept was a much better moviedo you need morelook at the fucking poster you started the thread with, vader is bigger than every single actor's picture the movie is actually about and he's in it for 15 seconds
>>218009502>Worst part is, I wouldn't have minded much of he popped out for the hallway scene and only that scene but the stupid castle part was too muchYea, I think they felt very obligated to have him cameo, sell toys and use James Earl Jones. I also wish the Vader hall scene wasn't so video game looking. Vader soloing all the rebels is too over the top. Should have had Stormtroopers with him and have them actually hit their targets. Show the empire is unstoppable, not Vader.
To buy this IP for billions of dollars and then shit out the most incongruent unplanned bland garbage you could possibly imagine is enough confirmation that this was the plan from the start to destroy and humiliate what people liked about it
>>218009301Gen X hate everything. They're just slightly less bad boomers.
>>218010361Anyone who liked andor would hate this movie.
>>218009301it's boring as shit and looked like it ripped every scene from previous movies and glued it together
>>218011736>it's boring as and looked like it ripped every scene from previous movies and glued it togetherGen X-ers overreacted to Jar Jar Binks and now Disney is terrified of adding anything new to the Star Wars universe
>>218011249Just changing out actors wouldn't solve the problem, it's created by people with brain rot who can't do anything but create a "product" that ticks off boxes on their committee designed checklist. It never had a chance and all of the Disney movies suffer from it.
>>218009301SW is the OT and only that, og versionlet dead things die already
