What would the future have held for Jackie Jr had Tony not dissuaded Ralph from giving him a pass?
>>218011104Being a manajer
>>218011165Didn't he disrespect the pizza parlour?
>>218011405It wasn't Beansies though.
>>218011432So you're right. Don't know why but I had it in my memory that it was one of Beansie's.
>>218011104He was a constant fuckup loser.
>>218011104Tony didn't dissuade shit. He just didn't allow Ralphie to pass the buck to him. He made sure everyone would know it was Ralphie's decision.
>>218011648>Tony didn't dissuade shit.He absolutely did. Go back and watch the scene where Raphie says he wants to give Jackie a pass. Every line is very subtly cajoling Raph towards getting rid of him.
>>218011708>we talked about this>you were gonna give him a pass>but he should know
>>218011708Didn't T have an obligation to let no harm come to his best friend's (jackie Sr.) son?
>>218011851End of the day they shot a made guy.
>>218011815>You don't wanna create confusion and subordination but more important than the particular decision is that it happen in a TIMELY --FASHION. But fuck, why I'm telling you? You know all this. This guys always say everything without explicitly saying it but you can't read between the lines.
>>218011886and Tony killed a few himself including Ralphie, those rules are bullshitNew York didn't care fat Dom got killed in Jersey
>>218011851He was tired of him. No matter what he did the kid just kept fucking up and breaking his heart. He'd had enough.
>>218011890>you can't supply meaning that isn't there so ralphie isn't the one who made the decisionGiving Jackie a pass would cause extreme problems within the group, from Chris to Furio to the whole gang. Ralphie knew this, which is why he tried to put it off to Tony. Ralphie would lose all respect in the family.
>>218011986>meaning that isn't thereExcept it very obviously is if you've become accustomed to the cryptic manner in which they speak. Also you seem to now be of the opinion that Tony was pushing him towards killing Jackie which is what I originally claimed and you insisted he didn't do. Tony knew it was a problem, he wanted him gone and I think he also wanted Ralph to be responsible, partly for the direction Ralphie had taken him, hence him giving him back the gun and rubbing it in his face with the suggestion that Ralph schooled him as best he could. Plus you're also suggesting Ralph is trying to put it off to Tony. Why do you think he's doing that? Because he doesn't want to be the one to do it whereas Tony definitely wants him gone.
>>218011104Why do people act like he was a fuckboy poser when he got in an outnumbered shootout with the two most dangerous guys in the show and escaped unharmed, even shooting one in the process?
>>218011165did the writers hate AJ?
>>218012252i heard rumors that chase just hated robert iler for whatever reason (chase is a weird fuck and robert is not neurotypical for sure, maybe thats why)so he made sure that his role leads to him being typecast in the future, and made sure his role portrays him as a whiny fag.not sure but i think theres an interview out there where its being discussed in a few short sentencestl;dr: chase wanted to fuck iler because he disliked him for being autistic
>>218011890>This guys always say everything without explicitly saying it but you can't read between the lines.Nah fuck that, it doesn't apply here that they were speaking in code the way they do when hiding from feds. It was meant to show Tony pushing hard decisions and responsibilities on Ralphie after he's bugged him about being made capo for so long. Simultaneously a way to punish him for being an all around asshole.I thought it was also meant to be intentionally ambiguous to show how much of a two faced fuck Ralphie is, WANTING the son of his girlfriend to get murdered, and Tony was testing him
>>218012306Man fuck chase. As if they don't eat pasta pomodoro in Italy. As if high end mob restaurant toilets don't have toilet seats. The whole episode was meant to shit on Italian Americans because Chase is a self hating, bitter fuck, and nothing proves that more than Many Saints.I used to not give this a lot of thought, but it's clear, especially after Mad Men, that The Sopranos' success had very little to do with Chase himself.
>>218012417im sorry i was making that upi thought it would be funny but chase doesnt deserve thiseverything i said in that post was made up, sorry, i dont know why i did that
>>218011104he was gonna design men's suits
>>218012306No retard he represented adhd millennial failsons who had no ambition or skills. He had scatter brain issues where he would rant about one topic and then jump to another and have such strong opinions on them when he had very little understanding of them in the first place. /tv/ doesn’t want to admit it but most of them are/were AJ. Except for the part about getting Latina pussy. If AJ wasn’t rich and Tony’s son he would never have gotten a gf anyways
>>218011104Both him and Ralph would have died.Ralph was disliked and only tolerated because he made decent money. Jackie had the mind of a child, the only disappointing thing about his death is that it wasn't more in line with vitos exit (minus the pool cue). He openly disrespects the bosses daughter and doesn't get tortured? Makes no sense, regardless of who his dad was.
>>218011104He would've drowned in 4 inches of water.
>>218012356>Nah fuck that, it doesn't apply here that they were speaking in code the way they do when hiding from feds. They still speak cryptically even to each other. Think about how Johnny Sacs makes the request to Tony to get rid of Carmine. It's not just about avoiding responsibility with the feds, they want to avoid the responsibility in the eyes of their own respective families. Tony doesn't want to come outright and say he wants the kid gone, he still wants to appear to people as the guy who tried to help his dead best friend's wayward son. Should he give the order he gives Ralph the means to foist responsibility on to him for killing Jackie. He wants him gone but he wants Ralph to be the one responsible because I suspect he blames him for steering the kid astray.
>>218011104I cant even remember why he gets killed. Just remember him playing scrabble with meadow
>>218011851Tony has lots of obligations he doesn't adhere to, the guys are constantly breaking their beloved Rules
>>218012468>>218012451
>>218011165One of the most underrated performances in the entire show. After all these years I can still hear him say "but youre the manajer" in my head.
>>218012451well thanks for being honest with us anon
>>218012471I think they both would've survived short term although Ralph's leadership would be undermined for a period. But just like what happened in the past with Feech giving Tony and Jackie a pass at the behest of Richie, Junior and Johnny, people would ultimately move on. Restitution would just need to be paid to Furio and Ralph would have an excuse to have Jackie work directly for him as well as kick up more of anything he earned to pay back his debt. I do think Jackie would have ended up dead regardless soon enough, even with a pass. He was just too much of a fuck up and he would think he was invincible after being granted a pass for what should be a death sentence.
>check thread>people absolutely missing the point of the ralphie/tony sceneHoly fuck you retards. The entire point is Tony pressuring Ralphie into killing Jackie Jr. There was no way in hell Jackie would have lived past the shooting. If Ralphie actually followed through Tony would have been forced to kill him and maybe get an excuse to demote Ralphie or even kill Ralphie. It's true it takes Christopher to convince him fully but by the time the conversation happens Tony knows he won't live. You dumb motherfuckers.
>>218012607Tony and Jackie didn't shoot made guys. By the rules, Jackie Jr had to go. He was never cut out for mob life because he couldn't take direction and was greedy and proud. He would have got himself in a bigger mess soon enough if he got a pass.
>>218012734Yeah, I agree, the circumstances are different with Furio being shot (Sunshine wasn't made) but ultimately all their shit is discretionary and I think people would have lived with a pass for Jackie had Tony supported Ralph's desire to give him one, even if begrudgingly. Would be different if Furio died but a pass would likely involve a sitdown with Furio and determining how much Ralph and Jackie had to give him to make him okay with the kid getting a pass.
>>218012607People respected Johnny junior and Richie more than feech. Feech still wanted to do it and when he brings up the story he starts seething again. In fact he seethes almost any time he has to interact with Tony. Johnny and junior were probably the biggest earners back then too
>>218012417Is Chase even ethnically Italian?
>>218012944The situation is different but had Tony been okay with him getting a pass people would've lived with it.
>>218012607>Feech giving Tony and Jackie a passNot the same thing.>>218012734This. Tony and Jackie formed their own retarded plan, they weren't just mimicking the guys before them. Jakie jnr was like a child pretending to be a mafioso, a liability, a cretin and someone that should have had a less pleasant send off. The fact that he was still in the same state walking around like he's safe only highlights how badly he had it coming.
>>218013021No they wouldn’t everyone hated that kid his funeral was empty and they all talked shit about him during the after meal thing. He had no respect and no brains he just kept bringing up his father and acting like a spoiled brat
>>218013092>Not the same thing. It's a similar scenario albeit with a less extreme outcome.
>>218013138Of course they would've. Who would've had the beef? If Ralph gives a pass for his game being robbed and Furio accepts compensation for being shot then who else would feel so aggrieved they would object to the outcome? They might not like it but they would live with it. All moot because Tony wasn't going to let the kid get a pass and with good reason.
>>218013180Which makes it not the same, you complete and utter retard. Wouldn't surprise me if you're the knuckle dragging, talentless moron who played him with that level of logic.
>>218011902>New York didn't care fat Dom got killed in Jerseyhis death is one of the reasons they used for the war
>>218013372>The scenario has to be precisely the same for there to be any considerationKill yourself, you fucking sub human, obtuse retard. Imagine coming to a thread on a hypothetical scenario then shitting your pants because two similar scenarios aren't identical. They were close enough for a pass to be considered, weren't they? Fucking idiot.
>>218012451I don't know if you're pretending to be (me) or referring to your own post, but Chase absolutely deserves being shit on.
>>218013585i am referring to my own post, where i said chase deliberately set iler up for future failure>>218012566thank you
>>218012524>Bends more rules than the Catholic church!
>>218013474It's still not the same thing. One time people died the other they didn't. You're failure to grasp this, and the impotent rage you display when challenged are comedy diamond encrusted platinum. Look up the definition of same if it makes you feel any better you mental midget.
