star trek sex with shran
>>218041571>ayo we outta ideas let’s just rip off Predator but make them lame and gay
>>218041629Those are some tall fucking aliens. I like that not EVERY species is perfectly in scale with humans, like the Binars and Ferengi being little guys, relative to us.
>>218041629Star Trek has to tread carefully when it wants to be edgy, you kind of have to grade it on a curve and find it “cool” only in the context of liking star trek. While I would proudly show a more philosophical episode to a friend for family member if I were trying to get them into Star Trek, I would NOT show the a le badass alien shoot-em-up episode with janeway running around in a tank top or worf trying to sneak around the Enterprise-D or whatever. It’s hella corny and it’s kind of a guilty pleasure more than quality badassery
>>218041629>>218041692Sometimes Star Trek inadvertently enters Power Rangers territory
>>218041692The Dominion War, The Cardassians, and The Borg are all awesome and cool even outside of Trek.
>>218041734Actually it’s a miracle “Resistance is Futile” entered the public zeitgeist because you actually watch the episodes and realize it’s holy cornball and dorky.Cardassians are cool though.
Computer one royale with cheese, hold the comments about my dietary habits
Anons are standoffish
>>218041629>ayo we outta ideas let’s just rip off Predator but make it super awesome
>>218041312He was hired because he had just done like 5 really popular PBS documentaries about Native Americans and had sold a ton of books. Now, the publishing contract and the PBS docs, THOSE he probably got because he was Jewish. But VOY isn't really to blame for hiring this guy. He had already been taken seriously as a NA expert.
There is nothing wrong with Voyager's portrayal of American spiritualism and in fact it's very tastefully done as a companion to scientific exploration.
Why were Smiley, the Intendant, the imaginary Dax, the Bashir Changeling, Ezral, Letek, Commander Tebok, Penk, Kolos, Karden, and Admiral Cartwright in Sisko's dream?
>>218041734>The Dominion War, The Cardassians, and The Borg are all awesome and cool>even outside of Trek.???was Dukat on Friends or something?
Look upon my woks
>>218041828>I saw something I recognized and I clapped
>>218041853Ok, now what?
>>218041832No he was on Knight Rider in the greatest crossover ever seen
>>218041785love this episode. they hate it on reddit though. probably because it deals with real human emotions like hatred.
>>218041629Imagine iykwim
>>218041895No wonder Neelix was highly valued on Voyager if nobody in the future knows how to actually fucking cook.
>>218041629they were only tall in their initial appearance. they were average sized (and maskless) later on.
>>218041692I mean, voy was wildly inconsistent in its quality. The hunters were cool for like 2 or 3 episodes and in the elite force game but like as a recurring threat they were incredibly dumb man. >Or great leader has decided that basing our economy off killing our neighbors for trophy's is bad for long term economic growth >Can we buy some holograms to shoot and train with?>Aww sweet thanks Janeway>The holograms murder them all because they dont read the manual

>Alexander Hilary Kurtzman (born September 7, 1973) is an American filmmaker. He is best known for co-writing the scripts to Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) with his writing and producing partner Roberto Orci, and directing and co-writing The Mummy (2017). He made his directorial debut with People Like Us (2012), co-written alongside Orci and Jody Lambert.Jesus wept
A teachable moment :)
>>218042044>hunters are thrill seekers who get off on the danger>turn off safetiesProblem? It's perfectly consistent with their characterization

Seven of nine or evil Kira?
>>218042208it really wasnt tho since it was explicitly for training. its like that episode of new drek special needs school, dude just send the trainees into a derelict ship. Nawh we dont need to check its safe first. Simulation? Pffft fuck that, we do it live. Oh shit dey dead...dont blame the captain, no one could have anticipated this rotten roll of luck. yup voy is a rough series to watch with all the quality drops
>>218042358Kira all day everyday without a second thought
>>218042397>since it was explicitly for trainingIt wasn't and even if it were they would want training as real as possible, that's their entire thing

>>218042215The later movies had multiple scripts that got mashed together into the incoherent messes we saw. The first one is easily the most straightforward of the series, excepting Bumblebee which hardly counts as a Bay era movie.
Why would you make live action Transformers movies and not include Stan Bush on the soundtrack?
>>218042918Michael Bay does not care about G1
>>218043003But Orson Welles is a much better director than Michael Bay.
>>218041571/tv/, I'm here to relieve you of command of the /tv/ threads.
Who do you all think was the Epstein of Star Trek? My vote goes to Dukat. He was trafficking Bajoran "comfort women" on Terok Nor.
>>218043381I didn't "traffic" your mother, Nerys. She was practically throwing herself at me.
You're just another greasy childless hogwarts wigger janny
>>218043181Oh yeah? How many explosions in his films?
The Sheliak should've allied with the Dominion.
>>218043662Michael Bay did The Rock? Crazy.
>>218041772The only time I remember Picard eating was when he was telling Wesley the story about getting stabbed and he was talking with his mouth full. I think it was a sandwich.
>>218042918The only bush I stan is your bush, babe. Mostly because I dare to be stupid. Prepare for my instrument of destruction.
>>218043381this guy
>>218043381>Who do you all think was the Epstein of Star Trek?
VOY is literally the last Trek I have left, and I can’t tell if Nelix is beloved or despised lol
>>218043801he eats cake at one of worfs birthday parties
To the anon who commented about replicator food vs cooked food.I believe that if they replicated the individual ingredients such as rickets eggs if he replicated the individual eggs, butter, salt, pepper, and cooked it then it would taste better. Taste homemade Sisko would cool this way.Sisko’s dad ran a restaurant
>>218043943its both
>>218043943Early Neelix is despised. Beloved might be a strong word to describe late Neelix but the character does become far more likeable as the series goes on.
>>218044023Yeah I think replicating individual ingredients is good enough; the process of spicing it yourself, cooking it yourself, and ultimately assembling and plating the meal for presentation/consumption adds enough of a handmade element, even if the parts are all just replicated. I believe the opposite argument of this would be too pedantic, requiring you to go on an away mission to gather water from a planet’s surface, harvest your own grain for pasta or rice or bread, it would simply take too long to do a “truly traditional” meal.I’m still stuck on that other anon’s question though whether or not replicated fruits and vegetables are alive. As a comparison, a transporter de-composes a living person and rebuilds that same person, we have to accept that. So a replicator is just a stored version of a scanned living thing like a celery stalk, essentially copying and “transporting” it in a 1:1 replication of the atomic structure from the top down.
Why did you start maining /trek/?Let's do a roundtable.
>>218044248Probably has something to do with people watching that star trek series idk though
>>218044248To call out manbaby franchise fags who need to put their toys away and grow up. Janeway hentai and retarded arguments about canon aren't going to save you from the nursing home. Wake the fuck up.
>>218044248i don't like TV other than star trek
It was The People's Elbow hazard
>>218044248That's a stupid question!
>>218041571I forgot Dwayne appeared on Trek and it was one of the good series
>>218044302You just want to hurt other posters.
>>218044320Are you the anon who has trek on 24/7?
>>218044192I always imagined replicators as basically transporters printing on draft mode. They spit out something close enough to the original down to a certain resolution, but that resolution is not low enough to support creating life with any certainty. Sorta like the time machine in Timeline.
>it’s the Neelix stolen valor episodehe really was the worst
>>218044248Someone has to put the geezers in their place.
>>218044433It's old guard

Vaughn Armstrong holds the record for playing the most distinct, credited characters in the Star Trek franchise, portraying 12 different roles across four series (primarily in Enterprise, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine).

Was he right to want Data dismantled?
>>218044764Post pussy
>>218044799
>>218044809That will be all.
Why are some anons using /trek/ as a porta potty?
If Data has a furbaby child substitute why did he create Lal?
>>218044885Didn't he adopt Spot after the Lal incident? I can't believe the writers forsaw the epidemic of childless autistic milennials substituting pets for children.
If you've never piloted a ship lower your tone when you speak to me
>>218044792No, and the fact that his request was even entertained when both Starfleet and the Federation recognized Data as a sentient lifeform is absurd.
>>218044885Data didn’t but Barclay did
Grow up-poster is becoming grating.
>>218044975They are just doing it because they want my attention.
>>218044966Lieutenant “I have free will except when i don’t” Data is nothing but a toy for human entertainment
>>218044966They had to have a hearing with madame arbiter to settle it tho.
>>218044792Yes? Obviously he is the antagonist from the audience’s point of view, because the story frames Data as innocent and worthy of life. But Maddox did everything by the books. Got top-down permission, had an ultimate good in mind. He even refers to Data as “he” instead of “it” at the end – and Data says he hopes to one day help Maddox with his studies. It’s not Maddox’s fault that Starfleet had access to a miracle, and Maddox’s intent wasn’t to just shut down Data and destroy him but to try and learn about him and pit him back online in good faith after the fact.I still don’t understand why Riker had to prosecute, and this will never make sense to me
>>218045011How many times did Data go nuts?
/r/ attention
>>218045036Depends on whether you’re counting him going nuts all by himself or through some energy beam. I truly believe he isn’t alive and doesn’t have free will because of that episode where Picard orders him to lie and they get their memory wiped but data refuses to tell them what happened even when he was threatened with being dismantled
>>218045036Twice if you include the movies
>>218045055The Maquis wouldn't exist if the Titans were around and that is a fact.
>>218045036Trick question, he’s always nuts and bolts!
Why are the special effects and costumes so much more elaborate in season 1.
>>218045030The framing device in Data's Day is Data writing Maddox a letter about his life. That shows he harbors no ill will and wishes to continue a professional relationship.
>>218045125Well if that's true then explain the AEUGYeah that's what I thought
>>218045085Data has to follow all legal orders but was it legal not to inform Starfleet command of the isolationist aliens?
>>218045177Akocheemoya we are far away from the bones of Lalah Sune.
>>218045030I think it’s like when a judge appointing a defense attorney for someone who nobody wants to rep pro bono, like a pedophile or someone who shot a cop
>>218045182the point is if data cannot choose to disobey orders he is not a real person.
>>218045217Kamille Biden, ikuuuu!
>>218045132
>>218045182NTA but I think part of the trouble with writing a believable “sentient robot” is that sometimes he has to not understand humans and not get their jokes or idioms or figures of speech, as Data often does. But other times they have to remind you that he is sentient and therefore has the ability to be “human” in nature and reason breaking the rules for some sort of greater good. It’s paradoxical, but of course true robotic sentience isn’t a thing and can never be a thing so it’s really just circa 1990s LA writers in a CBS writer’s room coming up with whatever works for their given episode of the week. And of course it’s not as fun when we think too hard about this meta aspect of it.
>>218041977We can fix him. We have the technology. BEHOLD!
>>218045219Mmm I see, that’s a good point. I remember watching that episode for the first time though and thinking SURELY Riker would throw the case at some point and purposefully fuck up his prosecution. But I guess it was his duty to try and get Data deconstructed without any shenanigans lest he be put in the brig or demoted for insubordination or something
Not a fan of how the later series start using really awful CGI, but I guess it is what it is

>>218041629She has big boobs
>>218045736He forgave him, remember?
>>218046187Does every Trek series need to have a shitter character that creates shitter episodes? Is it like some sort of esoteric diversity quota?
>>218041692Voyager was on UPN which was constantly pushing it to do this shit, that's why they had 7 of 9 and the holoprogam on a beach and The Rock and all the other lame shit making it TNG-lite
>>218045085based. Data is a great character but at the end of the day he is just a sophisticated robot. there is no ghost in the machine.
>>218046932I hope you're right because that would mean hell exists and I know you would be in it for eternity
>>218045354if he didn’t give his legitimate best effort against Data, there would have been a mistrial and it would have been retried later with a real attorney. the best thing he could have done for Data was try, because his best would probably not have been as good as a JAG officer’s best.
>>218046505Pleasure only starts once the worm has got into the fruit, to become delightful happiness must be tainted with poison.(yes its esoteric)

>>218047505He just needed to pick up a bag
>>218047140Such a good title for an episode and the music in this one is some of the best in the entire series
A big part of the problem is that these shows used to literally be shown on cable, so episodes like TNG had to intrinsically have a heart beat with an intro, a reveal, and a cut to black. Fade back in, explain the situation in the ready room or whatever, tension, music swells, cut to black. Really gave shows like TNG a heart beat. Now everything costs millions of dollars like PIC or SA and it's just action action action, joke joke joke, space battle lasers stabbing action, marvel joke, penis joke. Absolutely no room to breathe
>>218047898Sometimes with TNG watching through the shittier episodes it’s like obviously they intended you to forget a line or two during commercials because it’s never brought up again and the episode simply unceremoniously ends
>>218047140
I miss real Trek
>>218047953>beam down drugs into their brains erasing short term memorysimple as
>>218047140There’s really no point in staying once the myth of insane genius is completely dispelled and all you see are mentally ill retards.
>>218047898It's because syndicated shows were written to get you to keep watching through the commercials. They would introduce a mystery at the beginning of the episode and then wait until the end to solve it. Streaming shows will introduce a mystery and then wait three years to answer it. That is if the show doesn't get cancelled first.

Something else that First Contact and Voyager did to completely destroy the canon of the Borg established in TNG: retconning the Borg Queen into BoBW(as per First Contact) renders the entire plot of that episode nonsensical, especially the ending. Crusher says that the Collective CANNOT terminate its link to Locutus, as it would be like telling a human being to disconnect a limb. And then the "sleep" command is uploaded and the Cube is destroyed(for absolutely no goddamned reason, but that has nothing to do with the issues with the Queen). But if the Queen was even an existent entity, let ALONE physically present as she was, then she easily could have disconnected Locutus per Unimatrix Zero. The Queen did it without even exerting herself. So why not in BoBW? Furthermore, the Queen would have had no issue simply not allowing hte command to be executed, since she apparently MANUALLY tells the Collective to do things.God......the way Voyager handled the Borg in the later seasons is pure hackery.
why are aliens obsessed with root beer

Admittedly I’ve watched Star Trek for like 15 years and I’ve still never bothered to memorize which century or which specific year or which star date any of these series take place in.I just use TOS as an arbitrary “year 0” and vaguely memorize how many hundreds of years before or after each series takes place in
