Why did it flop? Isn't this what people want in adaptations?

Ironically sticking too close to the source material made it a worse film. Some things that work in a game just can’t work on film.

>>218178767First and foremost it flopped because SH1 didn't do a good enough job drawing in a crowd and didn't really leave the door open for a sequel. So we got people who didn't know what the fuck was happening or who the fuck these people were. I enjoyed the first movie enough, it was suspenseful and pretty good since I'd never played SH. Only thing I thought was cool in Revelations was the mannequin monster. Entirely devoid of most anything else after that.
