When you think about it Walt’s story in season 5 is like a shitty, small-scale parallel to Gus’ story that happens in the span of a single year>builds his own meth distrubition business>becomes ultra-rich under the guise of a small business (car wash, fast food restaurant)>a loved one dies because of his involvement in the criminal world (hank, gus’ boyfriend)>he gets revenge by going to the home of the people that murdered his loved one, and killing them all (car trunk machine gun killing the nazis, gus poisoning don eladio at his hacienda)

the final boss should have been the abstract, unknowable powers of madrigal electromotive stalking and disappearing everyone in walt's life until finally he's nabbed by the corporation and put to work (as jesse was) in an enormous, monolith leviathan of a meth lab deep deep underground . . . and he kinda loves it.
