What was Miami actually like in the 1980s? Did Miami Vice have some validity?
actually yes. whole series was actually somewhat symbolic of the decline of the 1980s. mann was shocked to find out scarface was actually somewhat tamethe tone change from season 1 to season 5 is something that i don't think most mainstream shows capture.
>>218183563>miami vice cops trying to prevent drug traffickinglolthe reality is more like Scarface/cocaine cowboysmariel bootlifters shooting people in the street in broad daylight over bad drug deals and murdering each other in their homes at night while the "trusted" institutions of the public try to skim as much money they can for themselves out of the chaos
Much different time than today.A lot less political correctness.Mexicans and blacks knew their place White cops had not problem letting them know.Of course, those days ended shortly after in the '90's when minorities took over with black and latino culture.
>>218184435>blacks knew their pla-ACCK >*gets shot in a plane highjacking
>>218183563It did. There's a good chunk of Miami's current skyline that was built with cocaine money in the 70's and 80's.
why was it /fa/ kino
Prior to drugs, Miami was basically a retirement home. All that drug money really turned Miami into a world city. The whole plot involving police is bogus though. Realistically it was a lot of fed bois failing every step of the way until they wised up. Then the drugs started coming in through Europe
>>218184435the era of Jim Crow wasn't that distant in the 80s
Castro dumped all his criminals and homos on Miami in 1980
>>218183563Scarface is more realistic than Miami Vice. Coke built that city
>>218184435the 1980 Miami riots happened after a black motorcyclist was beaten to death by cops. this shit used to happen all the time before dash/bodycams and there was no way to prove it.
>>218186340>dash/bodycamsthose backfired real quick on blacks lol
>>218184435Where did the Sandinistas invade?
>>218186340Cops used to get away with a lot of abusive practices back then especially if the suspect was non-white.
>>218186340The officers in question were charged with Federal civil rights violations but a jury acquitted them anyway.
>>218186560yeah it was the 80s when most Southern juries would still be largely guaranteed to find them not guilty
>>218183563I don't know who the guy on the left is but if he happens to have a daughter I would love to suck on her pussy and grab her ass and titties
