He was approached for Christopher Dent, Harvey Dent’s father. Brad Pitt declined this role as well. Sebastian Stan is playing Harvey Dent and Scarlett Johansson is playing his girlfriend Gilda Gold.

Nolan pumped out an entire trilogy in less than a decade while making other movies in between

What kind of disaster must that role be for 2 different actors to tell you to fuck off on a prestige franchise.

Probably not a substantial enough role for Brad or he’s still in the old school mindset that you don’t do capeshit, that cameo in Deadpool doesn’t count. Stellan is notoriously lazy and doesn’t like to be away from home for too long, and the role likely requires him to be available for reshoots and stuff.

most likely just a minor role and it's not like either of them really need to do it just for a CV point.
