I think Kevin Feige is to blame for a lot of this. Amy Pascal cleared wanted Tom Hardy’s Venom to be in the MCU and Feige blocked it. Sony wanted to have their villain movies connected to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, which is why Vulture originally had a bigger role in Morbius. Then covid happened and they slapped No Way Home, and Feige forced them into a position where it had to be another universe. Sony played ball, Venom 2 ended with Venom teleporting to the MCU so he can crossover with Spider-Man, then Feige immediately ordered him to go back at the end of No Way Home. So Venom 3 was forced into being a pointless mess of retardation where Tom Hardy is walking around in the desert acting like an dumbass for an hour and a half. Feige fucked them over because he’s a tyrant and wants to control everything to do with Marvel.
