What are some of the best movies where a woman is smart, funny, cool and charismatic? I'm looking to cure my crippling misogyny.

Doesn't exist. The silver lining is that your baseline misogyny was correct all along

Not animated or cartoons

The last seduction.

Russian Doll was the first all female production I watched and I greatly enjoyed it. Probably cured me of some misogynistic views.

>woman scheming
How would this cure one's misogyny?
>>
>>218189154
Nothing cures our innate hatred of women but the lead is smart, charismatic, and cool.

>woman being smart

This will only be in animated film written by men because it’s physically impossible without special effects

I watched the first thin man movie and was not all that impressed by it

that's unfortunate
Even my friend who hates old movies thought it was awesome. I don't care much for the sequels though

don't get me wrong, the chemistry between the leads was great. It was just everything else.

Generally speaking I think characters have to be flawed in some way to create a compelling story so I think anybody with ALL those traits is rare.

I guess the girl in Youth in Revolt is kinda all those things but its an average 2000s comedy film. The film Marty (1955) has a very sympathetic girl if you want a film to help with your misogyny. She is actually not any of those things which makes her actually more true to most women because actually most people are quite bland and dumb but the girl in Marty is very sweet.

Oh actually the girl in Blonde Crazy is all those traits. Thats a good film.

So, all the movies where women are all those traits tend to be noir movies from 40s and 50s? So, at a time when women's "rights" weren't all that good, women were a lot cooler compared to now that they're emancipated? That's what I'm understanding so far from this thread

No anon, more likely OP posted a noir image which attracted people who like old films and posted films based on OP's image.

Me personally I don't even watch modern films but i'm sure there are probably lots more films made in the last few decades with compelling women but I wouldn't know.

I wouldnt say the woman is cool or charismatic necessary but Poltergeist is a great movie that is surprisingly pro-feminist without being preachy or condescending towards men
