>>
>>218189185
Why would you want a job you have no idea how to do?
>>
>>218189185
Millennials and zoomers would collapse into a pile of their own runny diarrhea if they had to read and process a file of actual papers that big instead of staring at it on a screen
>>
>>218189308
You do know that file was comically large right? Like for comedic effect. If you were around when we had paper files, you'd know that the bulk of things in a file were old and usually irrelevant to the task at hand. Usually, you would only pull out the few pages that were relevant to the task at hand. The rest was usually just archive, as you couldn't just put everything on a hard drive and forget about it.
>>
>>218189308
Yes, that sounds awful. I despise paper work.

What was George's job?

You zoomoids don't know what it was like. We lived for cracking into a good file.
>>
>>218189463
This anon gets it

I unironically miss the days of triplicate carbon copy forms. Nothing like it
>>
>>218189431
To work the Penske file. Weren't you paying attention?
>>
>>218189240
DOGE needs you.
>>

Create a emission flow of technical bandwidth to circumvent the quarterly process, essentially networking into a projected fiscal period with estimated growth
>>
>>218189426

Was the 90's really so economically booming that you could just get high paying white collared jobs with zero experience or qualifications?
>>
>>218189404
in my first internship someone gave me a Penske-sized file to copy for a meeting that week with no further instructions, I didn't think about it any further and went on to copy over a thousand pages of consultant white papers on the specific subject (1999-2008) instead of just the dozen added this year by our firm. Good times.

Back when corporate espionage required an inside man instead of just a suspicious email link
>>
>>218189185
I wouldn't, and that's what no one did
>>218189404
Well it sounds like you have a handle on the task at hand.
>>
>>218192905
No, you were competing with other similarly qualified applicants and very few employers practiced what we think of now as diversity mandates, and everyone knew who they were (the government was the biggest of course). It wasn't "easy" to get a job, but you weren't competing with overseas labor and candidates using their gender, orientation, and ethnicity to leapfrog you.

The exception was stuff related to IT in the last half of the decade. That sector was going gangbusters and if you had a shred of experience or a relevant degree you could fluff up your resume and get multiple offers. Tons of people with IT majors already had jobs lined up before they graduated. Most of that ended with the dot com bust.

Millennial here, writing with a pen is infinitely easier. Computers are infuriating and I usually end up punching my monitor trying to fill in a pdf

That doesn't seem that bad... what's the problem exactly
