Why are they still so funny 90 years later?

Because in the grand scheme of things, we never truly outgrow our “laughing at jingling keys” phase

some people are just timeless. part of growing up is realising that guys like this were always funny.
>>
I grew up in a post-soviet Eastern European country. They would show the Marx Brothers on national television. But never this, because it was considered too low-brow.
>>

How did you feel about the movie?

Slapstick comedy never goes out of style.

Everyone in Hollywood is jewish because Jews founded Hollywood. Surprised knowing that wasn't your Hiroshima.

I don't think more than one or two people in my extended family saw it, the blasphemy of recasting them was too great. If you're not casting three people who want to do a similar act moving forward, but rather three actors to do the role one or two times, what's the point? Just a hollywood cash grab. The real stooges lived and died as a unit, they were extremely dedicated, like what is your recast even about? I sometimes wonder if we were uncharitable to the movie but I just can't imagine it being good enough.

"The Jews are trying to take over WB" is one of the most surreal things I've ever read on this site.
>>

I haven't watched it but a common note of praise is that the actors do a good job imitating the trio
I did enjoy this interview though

It’s not like comic books where you can just recast them every 10 years for a new generation of fans, Not every franchise needs to last forever. Look how badly Star Wars and Star Trek are being handled. At least the Stooges dies with dignity.

where's Shemp?

if they did this on stage it would be incredible

Even then people still dressed like adults. Now I see men in their 40s wearing sandals and sweatpants to go shopping
its embarrassing

Because they're Jews
>>
>>218191803
Same as the Marx Brothers. Or Tom Lehrer. Jews didn't take over Hollywood by accident, they are legitimately very funny. Just because I don't like their overall impact on society overall doesn't mean I can't recognize that fact.

Shemp is the only one I would trust to keep an eye on my child

Let me just iron this suit and put on dress shoes to go get some food real quick from the store. God, look how much adulting I'm doing. Everyone is gonna think I'm so mature.

What is some ACTUAL funny boomer humor? Pre-80s, basically.

I like Buster Keaton, anything he did I like to study and chuckle at. Harold Loyd is alright, although not on Buster's level. I do not like Charlie Chaplin.

I also sorta like Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, but it's not a great movie or anything. Don't like anything else they did.

After that, uh, I guess I like Dr. Strangelove? Pink Panther? Idk. Boomer era humor just does not land for me.

Enlightened Antisemites are the way to be imo

Not really. Anything they were doing before WW2 can work sometimes. Anything after or especially during is zogslop.
>>
>>218193882
Mel Brooks
>>
>>218193920
Oh, I forgot to mention him, my bad. I like Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein has some great gags. I also sorta like Men In Tights but the least. Spaceballs is alright, but everything else he did isn't for me.
