I hate the sequels but the one part of them I loved was the character of Kylo Ren, or rather the potential he had Anakin was a fallen Jedi who slowly turns to the Dark Side But Ben Solo/Kylo is a sith who slowly moves to the light So he's like a reversed version of Anakin When he kills his father, it's supposed to solidify him in the Dark Side, but it actually does the opposite. It makes him more conflicted. When he says "I know what I have to do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it" he's not referring to coming back, like Han thinks, but gathering the will to kill him. Too bad they fucked it up though, and the sequels had no idea what they were doing

It would've at least been a little cool if Rey used Kylo's lightsaber in the end to help block the lightning
