Despite coming out 10 years after the second installment, Now you see me 3 did very well at the box office, with a revenue split skewing more international than most other movies with similar levels of success.

My question is why? Why did this movie not flop like 99% of other cash grab legacy sequels. The first two didn't really have a cult status or much enduring power. I suppose they are rewatchable at least.

Is it literally just because of Jeets thinking shitty "magic is cool"?
