Private Pyle was in the right, when someone forces you to take a gun and shoot strangers who have never wronged you for reasons that mean nothing to you, the only moral thing to do is turn it on the man who handed you the gun.Of course the drill instructor is himself just following orders and has little personal responsibility for the system he's part of but if that's the only way to rebel that's open to you, you take it.
