>>218198664I've read all of le Carre's books. I watched both the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy series of 1979 and the Smiley's People series of 1982. All of those I mentioned are far, far superior to the movie. The Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy movie of 2011 suffers from several things, namely mediocre screenwriting and direction, and from an attempt to compress what could easily require eight or nine hours to tell the story into a two hour movie.

That Jude law movie about a genius writer was dull but I did learn some.new words. Film is more about emotion and performance than learning academic knowledge. Limitless movie is too cartoonishly flashy to be smart. The books are better.
