Cocaine will also "clear" your bloodstream direct effects wise in about an hour, giving you some mechanical "downtime", whereas the norepinephrine related effects of amphetamine can be like 8 hours after a relatively small doseIronically though, the catecholamine release from amphetamines can actually "help" the heart, but the vasoconstriction etc and increased heart rate is simply going to take a mechanical toll eventually (again, I ended up with minor heart problems AFTER I quit, like I'm stuck at a permanent 130/75 BP so it's not the worst, but being on it likely "improved" output enough to mask the damage, again I got out before I really did too much damage, but I'm defintely not living past 70). It does fuck your kidneys though (again, managed to avoid any particularly bad kidney damage but they're a little less good than they should be), which are not quite as robust as the heart.
