Your perception of time changes as you get older. 2016 was ten years ago. To me, it feels like 3 months ago. It's weird but there's not much you can do about it unless it's to stay grounded in the present. That does help some

Time seems to move faster as you get older because when you're a child or even a young adult you're still making new memories. The older you get the less there is of a need to form new memories especially days where you just go to work and go home. Trying to have new experiences and do different things definitely helps in "slowing" the passage of time.
