The title is dumb and awkward, the Michel Gondry matte paintings are tacky (i wonder if it's the same painter / animator duo that did those in Beau js Afraid, they're also filmmakers - The Wolf House is pretty great) and this is kind of the same plot as I Saw the TV Glow, no? Kid watches some shit on TV that the kid thinks is cool / real, then as a teenager they rediscover that thing and surreal shit commences. Also, ripping off Videodrome vagina VCR player imagery like that? Come on. I gave the first two movies a pass cause they were interesting and different enough (people compare the style to Lynch but I only barely see it) but xer is getting way too high on xer's own supply now. There were already cartoonish visuals in the previous movie, adding more elaborate practical sets does not a style development make.
>>
>>218205655
Looks like cold kino. TV Glow was mint hopefully this one is less blackpilled.

I agree with the Videodrome riff being tacky, but the matte paintings look fine. In an age of green screen shit I will take any appearance of a matte painting. The plot does seem way too similar, but this is just a trailer, they could have edited it in a way to deliberately reference the previous film, but the actual storyline could be different enough.

>>218207512
She is clearly playing a younger version of the Gillian Anderson character who is supposed to be the final girl actress in the slasher movie. Basically, she probably has like three minutes of screentime at most. I bet it's gonna be mostly Bergman Persona type shit with Anderson and the literal who lead.

Nobody outside of this shithole knows who she is. She starred in two literal who movies only shilled on here by you, autist waifufaggot. Only reason for her being in this flick is that the tranny that made it undeniably posts on here. Maybe it's (You) even.

That name sounds stupid as shit but I can already tell the cinematography is great, and I saw the /tv/ glow was fresh as fuck, so I'm mildly hyped.
>>
>>218208258
seriously, what was xer they them whatever thinking with the title
it's not even that it's long or elaborate, it just sounds bad, that sentence doesn't work at all
"Teenage Sex in Camp Miasma" works
"Teenage Death in Camp Miasma" works
"Sex and Death in Camp Miasma" works
you can't have it all
>>
>>218208338
>seriously, what was xer they them whatever thinking with the title
It reminds me of Dasha's movie. I think they intentionally pick stupid and unwieldy names sometimes.
I'm sure it's very deliberate and clever, I just hate it anyway.

Feeling similar to the previous two is intentional, it’s supposed to be a thematic trilogy about “screens”
>>
i can't wait for it to end up being another film about how hard it is being a tranny
>>

It's very literal. Slasher movies have 17-19 year old characters that have sex and get killed.

I assume World's Fair was meant to be about troonism too but I have zero fucking clue in what way. I Saw The TV Glow is pretty obvious in that aspect. But World's Fair, idk what exactly is all of that about. It seems to be vaguely about internet grooming if anything, although the situation in the movie is more like the girl is grooming the bald grown ass autist not the other way around.
>>
>>218208634
It's about internet psychosis, like the Slenderman murders, but it doesn't want to be lazy and stupid about it like a typical horror movie would, with the same material. Pulling back a bit and being more abstract lets it ultimately be about more than the specific stuff the director was interested in though, like in a lot of art.
>>
>>218205655

We're All Going to the World's Fair was one of the few genuinely creepy movies I've seen in recent years. Not really scary, but there was a great sense of dread throughout. Really well done. I'm a neo-Nazi chud, but credit where it's due.

>>
I loved I Saw the TV Glow, and We're all going to the world's fair was pretty good. Yet, I predict this will be my least favorite of the 'screen' trilogy. I just don't care for slashers.
>>
My favorite part of We're all going to the World's Fair is JBL's very odd breathing pattern.
>>
>>218218200
Yes that is the Canadian actress Amanda Fix, star of the hit Tubi original slasher film Lowlifes
>>
>>218218200
Gadonschizo watched some random movie called North of Normal and got a secondary obsession with Amanda Fix, some literal who Canadian that basically had her first role in North of Normal. Then he shilled her next movie Lowlifes to no end. The fact that Amanda Fix is now in Schoenbrun's movie proves that they / them, whatever it is, posts on here because outside of Canadian casting couch scene the only other place where this zoomer bitch is known is this board - from the Gadon schizo spam.

>>218219503

The release date is in August and MUBI is already putting out a trailer? That's weird for a non-blockbuster, I guess they're trying out some shit in marketing. I doubt this will have any mass appeal, A24 bailed on this one because I Saw the TV Glow didn't do well in theatres, but it's weird that they even hoped that it would, did they not watch the movie? They had trouble balancing the "for art's sake" releases and shit that will actually be financially viable. Only two films from last year that did well were Materialists and Marty Supreme. NEON has been mogging them hard. This year is already starting poorly for them too with How To Make a Killing (poor reviews too, and looks like shit, Glen Powell is not a star, plus I'd rather watch the classic Kind Hearts and Coronets again, the first adaptation of the book How to Make a Killing is based upon).

Red Rooms?

More like Cuck Rooms lmao.

Also, previous two movies were Sundance premières, but this one is neither there nor at SXSW. Are they actually aiming for Cannes / Venice? Should have been a Sundance Midnight premiere. If you're world premiering at Cannes and Venice outside of main competition it's almost guaranteed the movie will fail to get momentum, even if the previous one became Letterboxd core. And I really doubt this kind of movie will crack the main competition of either festival. Maybe they could have tried Berlinale, but this year was embarrassing, to the point the current festival director might get fired. I could imagine they tried to get into competition but got rejected because the programmers are stupid or corrupt (I swear shit like Anke Blonde's Dust got into competition through bribes, like how else?). They had basically no proper names this year.

based on the trailer alone, i can tell he's finally too stuck up his own tranny ass for this do as well, critically and commercially, as his two previous films.
