This was a movie actually made for comic book fans. DC made miniseries for both Mr Terrific and Metamorpho in the year leading up to it, then gave Superman even more titles than Batman in the Summer the movie released. Casual moviegoers would have no idea who these people are, but comic book readers, even newcomers, would have all the context they needed. I don't know how they got away with it. It somehow made me like James Gunn.
