This did happen to me
>Travel the world alone for years
>meet a girl while abroad by happenstance
>fall in love at first sight
>Spend 7 days together exploring the country
>She tells me she's my soul mate
>she comes back to my country (the US) and we spend a week in New York
>eventually she leaves to go home and despite us talking every single day she dates and married another man
>To this day wonder what could have been if I had the stones to tell her how I felt

I've thought about writing this down as a book but I'm not sure if it's worth it considering the unhappy ending
