Why is every single film made prior to this date unwatchable fucking garbage?
>>
>>218213017
you're a retarded zoomer
>>
>>218213049
You're a pretentious, nostalgia-goggled simpleton. I know for a fact that you don't watch old films for entertainment, but instead for 'culture' or to impress others. Faggot.
>>
the lack of quips is unbearable
the diversity is nice, though

>>
For me it's before the late 1960s although most of my favorites movies are in the mid 90s to early 2000s
>>
>>218213017
Because you're a tasteless troll faggot...
>>
>>218213017
because you need cgi explosions and superheros making witty one liners to keep you entertained

Minus the CGI that was every 80s movie

You should kill yourself

Ngmi. Sad, really

I know you're just trolling. As a little joke. But it is funny, how some people are so anti-pretentious they actually believe that. But you can go way back and find a lot flicks that are genuinely entertaining. Silent comedies. Buster Keaton. 100 years old. Still holds up.

Zoomers would love Predator if they knew it existed, but they think everything before they were born is for "uncs" and refuse to watch them. That's why zoomers don't care about Star Wars and only consume Marvel shit.
>>
Very few things make me laugh like the non-musical bits in old Marx Brothers movies
Much funnier than anything that comes out today IMO

Zoomers hate anything from the past since it is far better than their fucked up present or future.

80s action movies were smarter than modern action movies. RoboCop is a critique of neoliberalism. Modern action movies literally are just mindless explosions and shit.
>>
I watch films from the 70s, 80s and 90s, almost exclusively.
And i always get remuxes so the grain is intact.

I would say the cut off point was 2012 but even then you'd get exceptions like John Wick or Blade Runner 2049 in these trying times
>>
>>218213017
I'm one of those rare people who can watch and enjoy an old silent movie from the 1920s or some modern slop from the 2020s (not everything though).
I know black and white films are hard to watch at first I grew up in the colour era but once you get into the story it's good.

>critique of neoliberalism
At the height of the cold war and reaganomics.
>>
>>218213017
Obvious bait. If you like movies from the 90s, you definitely like movies from the 80s too. Now, if you said 1980, it would be spot on.

>I would say the cut off point was 2012
I've noticed that's the most common opinion. I guess the Mayans were right after all.
>>
>>218215650
That's why Verhoeven made it. It was basically about Ronald Reagan.
