It was definitely a high point for action/sci-fi films. Even LOTR didn't raise the bar quite as higher as T2.

If Terminator 2 wasn't actually one of, if not THE, greatest action movie of all time, then it wouldn't be immediately beloved by anyone that sees it for the first time now.
I, the center of the universe, happened to be 12 at exactly that time, so most people WERE 12 in the late 80s and early 90s.
