Sitting down in a dark room and watching my tv to see what was going to happen in episode 8 the second it aired and witnessing this was easily the greatest television experience of my life and there is absolutely no chance it ever gets topped.

I was not expecting it. I watched it on a large tablet, outside, by myself, by a fire pit while smoking, and it's one of the only times I felt like something just drew me in and took me for a weird ride. I'm scared to rewatch it because there's no way it'll have the same impact or be even remotely as cool of an experience. Possibly one of, if not the best television episode ever.

remember Hawk’s explanation to Sheriff Truman in Part 11 about the "bad fire" ? how could Indians have ancient superstitions about electricity/electric flow in powerlines?

answer: they didn't. they have stories about a quality that exists in the natural world that has just been compounded/amplified by the way we've built things in the modern world
