Why didn't Lord of the Rings fans start cloakmaxxing? What explains that lack of cultural impact?
>>
some did and its always cringe

More cringe than the typical female LotR fan?
>>
>>218216042
they did
>>
>>218216259
yes
>>
>>218216042
Because most lord of the rings fans are 400+ pounds
>>
>>218216426
So basically just like the Barmaid's Tale fans?
>>
>>218216426
Cloaks are easy to make fit on even the fattest of fat man
>>
My closet is already filled with white scorpion jackets.
>>
>>218216042
Wearing a cloak while not riding on a horse looks really fucking stupid.
>>
>>218216496
people really need to be more accepting of men wearing a muumuu
>>
>>218216042
I wear one at home its comfy
>>
They cut the hardline.
>>
>>218216259
Is that who I think it is?!
>>
A lot of people did at the release of return of the king marathon when the kinoplex played all 3 movies in a row. Got people dressed up like elves in cloaks, rightwraiths, aragorn. We got that out the way and kept it for larps besides that.
>>
>>218217508
stupid normalfaggot
>>
Some dared.
>>
>>218216042
It can’t start with cloaks. It has to start with capes on suits.

That's a half cape
>>
>>218216042
What's the difference between a cloak and a poncho?
>>
>>218216042
You have to be tall and skinny to pull off a hooded cloak.
>>
>>218216042
Coats are just better. Anytime you need to use your arms for anything you displace the cloak and expose your torso to the elements. Ponchos are a little better but coats and jackets are just better all around.
>>
>>218218036
everything
>>
>>218218036
Some modern ponchos are basically cloaks in all but name, but traditionally they were shorter and didn't even have hoods.
>>
>>218218033
"Mantle" is the proper term for a half-cape.

Jesus, didn't you watch Bleach?
>>
>>218218724
No but I have wanted to for a long time

Absolutely am, but mostly only for special occasions. Theyre fun to make
>>
>>218216042
You'd figure with all the weird shit the fashion industry does, they would've brought cloaks back. We can have a dress made out of fucking bacon and electrical tape lingerie, but no one wants to strut down the catwalk with a cloak?

I would certainly avoid this person in public, but it would be a repulsion based on contempt and disgust, not a fear imbued with respect. I would keep him out of my life as one would keep sand out of a tent while camping, and I would drink his milkshake at the first opportunity (drink it up).

The commas aren't supposed to be there, they completely ruin the reference and it actually pisses me off necessary that means both the person who made those panties and the girl wearing them are clearly not actually fans of LotR. Fuck posers.
>>
>>218219644
Based.
>>
>>218219676
im getting a good chuckle out of imagining you telling her that and her getting mad and putting on a pair of sweatpants that say "Fly, you fool."
>>
>>218219134
Only faggots wear scarves when it's not below zero outside.

hobbitmaxx by wearing a cloak, take off your shoes, and walk to the corner 7/11

>>218218036

the thing about a lot of outer clothing is you have to match it with the rest of your outfit or it looks outlandishly autistic and larpy
a cape requires a coat requires finer trousers requires fine shoes/boots.
and if you've gone that far you probably look like you're larping a 1700 or 1800s fellow, and we've come full circle on the larp issue.

my next fashion goal would be aquiring a coat with those kino bloodborne flaps hanging over the shoulders/upper body, or a small cloak whatever they're called that does the same thing

>>
>>218216042
Because back then people still would be beaten up for being cringe in public.
>>
>>218217665
I think it is. Pale skin, bit of hair, give it credence.
>>
>>218216042
I genuinely want one, I have the deathly pale skin and scraggly hobo beard necessary to make it work
I also want a contactless pay thing stitched into a glove so I can check out at grocery stores by waving my hand over the card reader, maybe a lighter integrated into one of the fingers
>>
>>218223965
Do it, become an urban wizard.

She is fine as fuck. A little bit arrogant but she knows her stuff so I'm willing to give her a break there. I read a lot but I doubt I could challenge her on anything JRR related. Waiting to hear her thoughts on Eöl, should be interesting
>>
>>218224013
I hear it's pretty good, actually. Gotta be better than one piece
