Did Brosnan have the worst luck of all the Bond actors? He was a great Bond overall but was stuck in 3 out of 4 movies with fucking god awful writing.
Tomorrow Never Dies is so fucking boring and Die Another Day is too wacky and silly to be a Bond movie after 1980.
At least he got four movies, Dalton only got two.
>>218217176Due to ongoing Bond legal issues IIRC. Not his fault.
>>218217086Tomorrow Never Dies aged like Dom '63 and TWINE had a great villain and a plot that let Bond channel Dalton
>>218217142TND is awesome Has the best villain of the Brosnan era
>>218217335>>218217324The villain wants more news networks. OOOHHHH SO EVIL.
GE>TND>>TWINE>>>>>DADTND is dumb but funTWINE is boringDAD is dumb and boring
Daniel Craig literally became James Dad.
>>218217086He’s in one of the best ones, his second one is watchable, but things did get much significantly weaker with each one of his entries. And even he feels he didn’t get to do his own take on the character, being expected to occupy a middle ground between Moore and Connery
>>218217352I didnt say that, I said hes awesome cause of his characterPlenty of Bond villains whos not oh so evilSanchez is just a petty drug dealer but his character is awesomeStromberg is oh so evil but boring
Die Another Day was that hated huh?
>>218217352>wants to falseflag a war to make his news network richerpretty realistic villain t b h
>>218217439Its the Batman & Robin of the Bond seriesAt least its not as fucking boring as the feminist deconstruction film No Time to Die though, Id rather rewatch DAD any time of the week
>>218217463Can someone explain why critics loved No Time to Die but most people dislikes the movie?
The stunts in his movies sucked too compared to Moore and Craig. There are some awful looking effects.
>>218217439They already had trouble with Austin Powers being a huge thing and someone had the wacky idea that a series known for its stunts should instead try to rival movies like The Matrix by leaning into digital excess, it has ridiculous music video editing that felt dated on release, and the whole thing just feels like lazy self parody. They chose to completely reboot afterwards for the first time ever which says a lot
>>218217521Not sure where you’re getting ‘most people’ from, because the noisy contrarians on here don’t speak for the masses, particularly not if they’re praising the likes of Die Another Day at the same time
What was the Bond movie where Bond punches an old woman in the face who turns out to be a man in disguise?
>>218217365>TND
>>218217531I still remember Brosnan’s audio commentary when the infamous cg surfing scene happens. Totally deadpan “Well… I believed that”
>>218217562Most Bond fans disliked the movie.
>>218217521Well no fucking shit, why did critics "love" Ghostbusters 2016?Why did critics "love" Starfleet academy? Why did critics "love" The Flash?etc

>>218217620Here, Reddit, any forum. Most people thought NTTD was boring and the villain was ass. People went to see the movie because the entire marketing hype was COME SEE BOND DIE

>>218217714>media told me its great!Just how fucking stupid are you?
>>218217086>with fucking god awful writingTheyre all like that though. Have you seen the Connery ones? Theyre fun but fucking cheesy. Forget writing, the whole point of Bond movies are for guys to watch them and think he's cool and does exciting shit.
>>218217667People being twatty on niche internet forums that appeal to the anonymous and dysfunctional is not a reflection of the general public
>>218217740That doesn’t relate to what I said at all you imbecile. The marketing very much tried to conceal the fact he was going to die
>>218217747Those were movies of their time 70's. Every movie was cheesy as fuck.

>>218217757You might as well stick a buttplug up your ass if you enjoyed the humiliation ritual NTTD
Tomorrow Never dies is pure kino, and has aged very well. World is Not Enough is decent.Goldeneye is the perfect movie though. Also, Brosnan > Moore > Connery > Dalton > Lazenby > Dog feces > Craig
>>218217866I haven’t even given an opinion of that film.
>>218217863You just described the Craig era
>>218217889And you are clearly butthurt over people not liking itDAD wasnt at least motivated by political agenda
>>218217884Wrong:Connery> Dalton> Lazenby> Moore> Brosnan>>>> CraigCraig is the only one I dislike
>>218217895Casino Royale was a real Bond film. The others were Jason Bourne.
>>218217910You haven’t even posted any proof of it supposedly being disliked by most people. Clearly you can’t. Personally I think Craig, like Brosnan, got his best outing first. Just seems you’re hoping to bait.
My dad took me to see Spectre when I was 10. I remember the Blofield reveal my Dad said out loud "thats so fucking stupid" and the theater laughing.
More like only the first movie of every new Bond is ever really good since they have to actually try to make a good first impression.
>>218217971Spectre is possibly the worst bond film ever made, just awful

>>218217176dalton should have only got 1. brosnan was supposed to play bond in the one before goldeneye but they wouldn't let him out of the contract on the american show that he was in (i forget the name)
>>218217985It could have been OK if it wasnt for the retarded Brofeld storylineSeriously, they took inspiration from Austin Powers? And I was looking forward to Christoph waltz as BlofeldHe did what he could, but the writing ruined his character
>>218218040No, Brosnan was supposed to be already in The Living Daylights
>>218218054thats what i said
Daily reminder that while Casino Royale is decent movie, it's seriously overrated, and it's a major reason why all of Craig's films stunk. The whole MUH VESPER story-line is utter cringe a major stench. Then they had the nerve to go further with Skyfall by visiting his backstory, which was even worse.
>>218218042>>218217985Blofield aside the action was so bad and the chase scene seemed so slow. I could have pictured the chase scene moving as fast as people talking on the sidewalk. And the music was so fucking wrong.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVRGvFwgNMU
>>218218042Waltz wasn't even acting. He just showed up to set and read his lines. Abysmal performance.
>>218218076Don't forget the awful color grading that makes the film look like vomit.
for me brosnan was the perfect bond. he was charming and handsom (no homo) and cool. Connery has a sleaze about him that was creepy and I can't sanction Moore's baffonary. Dalton was too serious and Craig was just Jason Bourne but gayer
>>218218122also I loved the n64 goldeneye game. I'm still not a bond fan but goldeneye is my favourite bond movie. its the only one i like
>>218218076Was this really in the movie? Why is the city and streets empty? Holy shit. What the fuck went wrong.
>>218218122>I can't sanction Moore's baffonarycome on man, the buffoonery was the best part.I agree Brosnan is better, but if you can't appreciate Bond dressing up as a clown then you are lost.
>>218218122Connery and Moore were a product of the movies at the time, don't blame them.
>>218218152because jumping across crocodiles dressed as a clown is peak bond
>>218218151the whole movie is like this btw. it's an incredible sterile movie where nothing happens for most of the 2+ hour runtime.
>>218218067Nope, you said Dalton should have done only TLD and Brosnan then taking over in Licence to Kill
>>218218161>don't blame themi'll try not to
>>218218015None of what you just typed is proof of the film being hated by most people.
>>218218169And the twist at the end that most people even non-Bond hated. It's so fucking awful.
>>218218151Rome is of course a famously quiet city.No idea what they were thinking with so much of that film.
>>218218214oh okay. I thought brosnan was supposed to play bond before goldeneye but was stuck in a contract. pretty sure I watched an interview where he even says this
I think the problem I have with Craig Bond (other than Casino Royale which is a near perfect Bond movie) is Craid Bond is a hitman and not a secret agent. He just goes place to place and kills people, no missions, he's just always in the right place at the right time.
>>218218214nah I was right.>Yes, Pierce Brosnan was initially cast to play James Bond in "The Living Daylights," but he had to withdraw due to a contract with the television show "Remington Steele." He eventually made his Bond debut in "GoldenEye."

>>218218269TLK was before GEHe was cast in TLD, but the producers of Remington Steele were assholes and decided to revive the show riding on the publicity he got cause of being cast as Bond, he was obligated by contract to return and he assumed Remington Steele was over and it probably would have been if he wasnt cast for TLD
>>218218294Thats what I said, you said Brosnan was supposed to be Bond in Licence to KillLicence to Kill is the Bond film before Goldeneye, ya know
>>218218323I didnt mention any names. I'm not a bond fan so I don't know the order of the films. I just said brosnan was supposed to be in the one before goldeneye and you got all faggy about it and I was right all along
>>218218235I watched it for the first time the other day and was confused at the twist; It felt like even the movie wasn't committed to the bit, as if they knew how stupid it was. It went over like a wet fart. I was thinking "surely that's not it". But it was it.

>>218217625I like the original score for this scene.
>>218218363Okay I maybe retract my statement on the movie as a whole as I'd have to rewatch it, but this scene I linked just SUCKS.
>>218218323Based Remington Steele for giving us the perfect kino that was Goldeneye. You just know if TLD was first it would have ruined his entire tenure.

>>218218506>Famke Janssen is all womani'm not convinced. it looked like a troon even when younger. what's that one with the broken leg where they kidnap the daughter? looked like a troon to me. some troons are traps. and by that I mean they're convincing as women if you don't have the eye for it, and you could easily find yourself taking one home only go reach down and grab a handful of cock n balls

How accurate was the Goldeneye movie locations to the game?
>>218217086I think his tenure was average. I don't even like GoldenEye that much, but every Bond run but Connery's (and I guess Dalton's) is uneven, and even Connery had Diamonds Are Forever.

Almost a tongue in cheek parody of tropes/genres common at the time of release (Blaxploitation, space films, etc.)>Dalton Bond: Tall, dark Bond who is more stoic and reserved, like more of an actual spy; lots of book fans consider this Bond to be closer to the books, though I'd say the very, very 80s movies he was in are simply mediocre compared to other stuff from the time that it was clearly pulling influence from>Brosnan Bond: Sort of a happy medium of all these Bonds, arguably the definitive and balanced Bond if not the best. Much more of an emphasis on action than the other Bond movies, as well as the role of computers.>Craig Bond: Dalton Bond crossed with Jason Bourne. He gives the impression of being the most like an actual glowie/operator but he doesn't really feel, look, or act like James Bond

Apparently Brosnan was an issue on set, repeatedly insisting that scenes where put in where his female co-stars eat hamburgers and chocolate cake.
die another day is kino
>>218222091same really. the way i see it is that all bonds contribute to this bigger picture of (fictionalized) british espionage over the century where each of them fights an enemy of ideological/social/whatever issue which the western world somehow has to come to terms withbut then i see a lot of people outright hate certain bond eras and i'm wondering if it's mainly because of the bond actor or if it's the time period or direction
>>218218040>dalton should have only got 1. brosnan was supposed to play bond in the one before goldeneye but they wouldn't let him out of the contract on the american show that he was in (i forget the name)Dalton declined the Bond role back before Roger Moore got the job, because Dalton thought himself too young for the role. (Possibly for “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” but the details are fuzzy).Dalton then only got another chance at the role when Roger Moore decided to leave due to being “old enough to be the Bond Girls’ grandfathers”. Dalton even starred in a movie called “Permission to Kill” back in 1975, and the title of “License to Kill” was probably a reference to the older film’s title.

>>218218728I enjoyed it. I liked how it was different from a normal Bond movie.
Once the Bond machine starts rolling it doesn'twant to stop. Certainly never for a decentscreenplay. Another problem is giving the Bond actors "creative input" in to the making of the movie, after their debut was a success, which is what happened with Brosnan and Craig.
