There was this show that started in 2013 where TL;DR the entire premise was trying to find out who this criminal mastermind guy really was and why he was obsessed with a specific female FBI employee. It was vaguely baited as romantic as a smokescreen but was quickly made clear to not be that.Apparently the game plan from the first episode, according to the writers, was for him to be the FBI person’s mother that had transitioned, to be revealed whenever the final season was.They wanted to do it in season 8, but it was rejected by the network because they didn’t want a tranny show. So instead they extremely thickly implied it, as heavy handedly as they could get past the executives, killed off his daughter and made the show as terrible as possible so it would get cancelled. After their final paychecks cleared some writers started talking about it in public. This made the people that the executives were worried about upsetting very upset, so now most discussion around the show eventually involves someone sperging out about trannies and calling James Spader too bonemasculine to plausibly have XX chromosomes (which, lmao).So yeah troonphobia ruined this perfectly serviceable crimeslop thriller show and that’s why I’m a registered democrat.
