Starfleet Academy DOES know what it's trying to say, it's just a bit retarded. Don't get me wrong I'm a massive Trekkie and even like the new stuff (even Section 31 was fine as a B movie), it's just that it has pretty clearly changed over time. Right now it's not really pushing any kind of social or moral or ethical or philosophical envelopes, but there are embers of that attitude that can still be seen so I think it can get back in the groove.
