Is it really that good?

Men wouldn't understand

As a man, unironically this. I didn’t know what the fuck was going on. I imagine this is how women feel when they watch Heat
>>

99% means 99% of reviews were positive. 6/10 is a positive review.

Femslop

>greater than schindler's list
93 on metacritic btw
>>
Completely average coming of life story about le rebellious girl. No idea why critics went apeshit over it.

>teen angst
>mom is loving but struggles communicating her love
>girl stops being satisfied with her outsider friend
>lies and acts out to be friends with popular girl
>wants to experience love and lose virginity
>romanticizes shithead boy in order to do that
>later is sad upon realizing he's a shithead
>crawls back to best friend and makes up
>eventually realizes mom really loves her and she loves her mom
Not hard for men to understand, but harder for them to feel.
>>
I remember the sex scene and prom night which were good but otherwise a bog standard coming of age movie that you've seen before.
>>
>>218228251
Yes, and that boy Chalamet is going places
>>
>>218228416
The acting and script all feel so real. Other than her jumping out of the car and getting only a broken arm.

>Journos shilling for pretentious A24 award-bait slop
>Good

I am man and was about ~30 when this came out and i think it’s one of the best films ever made. Only brainlets need the protagonist of a film to be some fucking ”he is just like me!”-self insert.

I forgot to mention in this post that I’m also asexual and have Klinefelter syndrome

No, kind of a snoozefest but wraps up neatly by the end with Sorsha coming to terms with her upbringing and her relationship with her mom.
>>
>>218228779
lol so i was right, you have to go back
>>
Entire industry has been trying to gaslight you for a decade into thinking the crap they make is life-changing and the best shit ever even though everyone intuitively understands that cinema has never been worse
>>
>>218228887
Agreed, but doesnt really apply here since this is one of the actually good movies made in the past ~15 years
>>
>>218228382
I’d say femslop is more the softcore porn shit they watch on Netflix like Bridgerton and Heated Rivalry or whatever the fuck
>>
>>218228787
It's 93 minutes long and has very snappy transitions. Most scenes are under 2 minutes. This kind of film would have been 2 hours 15 minutes 30 years ago.
>>
>>218228251
It's just a really nice coming of age story with excellent acting from Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet, two of the best young actors at the time.

It's not a must-watch can't miss movie but it's like hard to say anything negative about it, so on the tomato scale it should rightuflly color a deep red. I though this movie was really good
>>
>>218228251
This was the movie that finally, truly made me stop caring about RT scores. I went and saw this and I can barely even remember what happened in it.
It was not a 99% movie.

>>218228251
it's like Ferris Bueller but Cameron as protag
>>
it's realistic, tangible, makes sense, has a message, just really nothing bad about it, hence, the high score
it executes what it wants perfectly
>>
>nearly 9 years since I downloaded it, still haven't watched it
>probably spent thousands of hours on /tv/ since then
>>
>>218228251
Is it about Lady Bird Johnson, wife of president LBJ?
If not, why is it called Lady Bird?
>>
she didn't take BBC in it at least
>>
>>218228251
I liked it, my g/f thought it was ok and my g/f's daughter loved it.
>>
>>218228251
>Christianism bad
>girls have to "find themselves"
is that it?
>>
>>218228437
Is this the
>Parable of the Prodigal Son
but for women?
>>
>>218231476
What's the message?
>>
>>218232965
Nah it's just standard angst.
>I HATE YOU MOM
>Okay maybe I don't hate you mom.
