>>218231133elijah still looks like a little kid. its crazy.
>>218231148Yeah, he could easily reprise his role as Frodo in his 50s and it wouldn't look odd. In fact, book Frodo is actually in his 50s but he looks younger thanks to the ring.

>>218231436Does she receive correction after this?
>>218230373>"Bookworm">collage of beautiful, sweeping landscapes>Google "genre" -- it claims "adventure comedy">webms displayed shows an angry child insulting her mother who is portrayed by an ignorant and petty obese woman, gets a drawn out sequence of fear leading to her comatose status followed by scenes depicting hatred towards a gay hobbitLook, I'd love to see a documentary of enjoying the beauty of an unexplored natural preserve, but this looks like it's going to be a moody P.O.S. about some brat and her kooky dad but "that's okay! It's the modern age and parents aren't perfect! Divorce and single parenthood is common! ISN'T THAT FUNNY!?!?!?"
>>218231535You almost got it right, anon. The parents were never married. The central theme of the movie is critique of the irresponsible hook up culture and the consequences it has on children who have to grow up in single parent households. Mildred's life is miserable and she hates her mother, which I didn't expect to see, because as you very well know, in the liberal worldview women can do no wrong and being a single mom is empowering, and women are never held responsible for their poor choices.
>>218231133>not showing us the card she choseso how am I supposed to know whether her dad is a terrible magician or she is being sarcastic, and if he is a terrible magician not a professional, why did he show up as a magician, this just lends confusion to the scene, it is kind of pretentious, nothing wrong with uncertainty but you should be selective with what the audience is supposed to be guessing
It's easily one of the better movies I've seen in a long time. The script is excellent. Elijah and Nell are perfect in their roles, and carry the film well just by themselves. 90% of the movie takes place in New Zealand's gorgeous wilderness. It's all shot on location so the movie looks immaculate and stunning. Of course, the best part is that it's two hours of Nell Fisher in her prime. No doubt it will be her magnum opus. No matter how long and successful her career might be in the future, she'll never surpass this one.
>>218232280What about it makes you think she can't get any better than this
>>218232261How about you watch the film and find out?
>>218232572Because she's already 14, m8. It's all downhill from here. I'm sure there will be some fine movies in her future resume, but she can never go back to her prime again.
>A girl asks if she was "conceived in a convenience-store parking lot.">Someone references a "one-night-stand". A picture of a balloon animal in the shape of a naked woman with large breasts is briefly shown and talked about. Someone references a sex-toy, explicitly. Sexual discussions/references made throughout.Yeah it’s a pedo movie.
>its actually a p*do threaddamn i thought there would be actual discussion of this movie
>>218230815>>218233349>>218233720You are mentally ill. Get help.
this one made me chuckle
You think kids (10 & 7) would like the movie?
>>218234380>Eleven-year-old Mildred’s life is turned upside down when her stressed out, strapped-for-cash single mum lands in hospital and her estranged father, Strawn Wise (Elijah Wood) – a has-been American illusionist – flies to New Zealand to look after her. The bookish tween’s lifelong quest has been to capture proof that the mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther exists, which would bring with it a cash prize that would pull her and her mother out of their financial struggles. Newly introduced father and daughter head to the wilderness on a camping trip for the ultimate test of family bonding, watched from afar by a deadly black beast that could be the answer to all their woes. Exploring universal themes of fatherhood, survival and overcoming your fears, and with the rugged Southern New Zealand landscape as its backdrop, Bookworm will make you laugh, cry and warm your heart as it takes you on the adventure of a lifetime. It's marketed as a family film, but I suspect you'll like it more than your kids. It's pure dadcore movie.
Shots fired. We are old, millennialbros...
>>218231879Jesus, that sounds fucking awful to watch. I'd rather take the nature documentary instead.
>>218230760Holy shit this looks gay
>>218236042Sure, dawg. You can dilate while you're at it.
>>218236092
>>218231879Well, maybe if she's visiting parks with her father in New Zealand, this movie is having a positive and engaging setting?
>>218236386I'm not sure what you mean, anon.
>>218233601Didn't she make quips about honesty being important, at all times, especially when speaking with her father? It's... kind of difficult to appreciate hypocrisy, especially from a bratty girl.
>>218236094>webmI'm 38, approaching 39, and in fantastic health. I'm tall, lean, and strong....I don't think I can tolerate stomping in a game-of-tag with a small child, tumbling into the ground and just lay on my back without panting heavily or in strong pain.If I impregnated a woman TODAY, I wouldn't get an 11-year-old child until basically 2038, when I'm practically 50.I mean... I enjoy the idea of a family (not someone else's kids), but to be nearly 60 during my firstborn's graduation?Damn it.
>>218237421You're clearly neither lean nor strong if a game of tag would gas you out and leave you in pain. Start doing calisthenics and yoga. Sign up for dance classes. 38 is not that old for a man. If you're still childless and hesitating because you think you're old, think about the next 38 years you'll spend alone. The feeling of dread and the fear of missing out is only going to get worse with each year. If you take care of yourself properly, you'll still be plenty spry in your 50s.
>>218238040>You're clearly neither lean nor strong if a game of tag would gas you out and leave you in pain. And you're clearly not approaching 40.Sorry, kiddo. I'm 188cm and 100kg (yes, lean, too) and while I can outpower practically everyone around me and can jog for hours, I'm not ignorant to the fact I'm tired as fuck doing it. It's a lot of work, now, when it used to be a joke.I'm not continuing this conversation with you.
>>218238510I'm almost as old and also nearly as tall as you, and I don't feel tired at all. Go see a doctor. There's clearly something wrong with you.
