Lately I've had this overwhelming feeling of dread that cinema is already obsolete, like it doesn't even matter in our culture anymore and eventually all the great films we revere are going to be totally forgotten in the future so it's not even worth caring about movies at all. Is this rational? Maybe not, but I can't help it. My normie friends are watching AI videos mocking Charlie Kirk way more than they're watching movies.

I see the society why decrease in attention span the end for movies as they exist now. Within ten years AI is going to be able to make feature length movies though so who knows. Customer made to order movies you share with your friends could end up being a thing.

Mainstream storytelling of any kind has been dead for years

What did Saar mean by this?

Im not Indian, I am using speech to text and not correcting it before I post.
>>
>>218237896
So? Cinema has been dead for decades already. I think it'll be fun to make your own AI movies and watch nepobabies kvetch.
>>
>>218238208
Why are you guys so opposed to the idea of having truly great, noble art produced by patrons of a higher civilization? Cinema is part of what made America the best society in history and we should just accept it fading away now? Why?
>>
>>218238240
Because Jews are behind Hollywood.

Cinema will always exist. It will change, get smaller or bigger, but will always exist.

When television started people said radio was going to disappear and it hasn't disappeared, it got smaller but it is still there.
>>
>>218237896
You are correct, cinema is an already antiquated medium. What magic can the big screen offer when everybody has a phone in their hand

>>218239042
It disappeared from youth, from conversation and from its hegemony in music advertisement. The premise is fading from culture and everyday life not that we forgot how to make radios
>>
>>218239248
You are correct about that but radio still exists. All the radio stations are there, news, debate programs, etc. All still exist.

I think cinemas will get smaller, instead of 20 rooms, they will have less because they will have less clients. And maybe only big movies like Avatar will be released in cinemas, the rest in streaming. There is no big difference between watching a movie that is only people talking in the cinema or in your house but with spectacular movies like Avatar or Titanic there is a difference.

All media and all artforms become relics at some point. Everything is in a state of flux: art, science, everything. You give your life to the pursuit of understanding certain things, only to watch those things change into different forms that you scarcely recognize. It's the Hegalian dialect in action. But as far as you and your kino is concerned, take heart in knowing this... It still has great value to you, and you can still share it with younger generations in the hope that they might enjoy it and learn something from it. In this way, the past is always a part of us.

>so it's not even worth caring about movies at all
this is why you're a faggot, btw
why would zoomers not caring about something reduce its value for you?
>>

>eventually all the great films we revere are going to be totally forgotten in the future so it's not even worth caring about movies at all
There will always be a core audience who appreciate film. People said the exact same thing about vinyl records and before that, opera. Both became niche instead of mainstream entertainment but absolutely still exist.

You fellas are gonna hate this but Letterboxd has kicked off with the Zoomers so now films are primarily being watched to be ranked/rated and have seen a small boost.
>>
>>218239394
It’s true, it happens to every medium, but at some point you realize we’re reaching the end of the road for art in general and that is truly awful to think about. What’s left after cinema and TV bite the dust? Music, that’s it
>>
>>218238240
we've all grown up
>>
>>218239908
What’s so funny? That I think a healthy Western society should have the ambition to aspire towards higher forms of art instead of our current mass culture of weed, gooning and AI Jeffrey Epstein memes? Why the fuck do all you faggots accept becoming spiritual peasants?
>>
I just want AI to kill Hollywood already. Hollywood will never again produce films at the same quality it did in the 1940s-1990s so fuck it
>>
>>218237896
Oh, no. Hollywood liberals won't be able to propagandize people as easily. Whatever shall we do.
