It was a different time. The great Gen X comedians of the 2000s era were starting to wain and there was no real good comedy scene that was popular after them. All they really had were a few generic, flavorless, comedians basedllenial comedians in that void that did really SJW safe corposlop tier comedy. The edgiest shit was stuff that girls in the city show on comedy central which sucked.

Then, out of nowhere, this meteor of comedy smashes into everything and they are reviving gay and racist jokes at the zenith of woke media. It was like fresh water to people from a desert so of course people lapped it up.
