Watch Daisies (1966)
>>218404017I already did, it's certified Czech kino and makes me nostalgic for the 60s.
Marie 2 > Marie 1
>>218404035Good taste.>>218404047Yes, without a doubt.
>>218404017Too bourgeois
>>218404596Sent that class traitor flying
>>218404596And that's a good thing!
Why are white people so goofy?
Turned it off almost immediately.I thought the annoying gayness of today's stuff was a new thing.Turns out that horseshit is an eternal evil like Dan Halen.
>>218404017I already have
>>218404017why were the actors cute
>>218406025They are actually slavs from Czechia but I can see why you'd think that. They're essentially white.
>>218406025Is "goofy" the new zoomer buzzword?
Czechoslovak New Wave was peak humanity
>>218404017I hurt my eyes to watch
>>218406435trying
>>218404017I did, it's subversive, pathological dogshit under the guise of feminist art.
>>218406435It's such a beautiful movie to look at though, especially those trippy train scenes.>>218406402I haven't seen The Cremator yet but for me, it's Lemonade Joe and Daisies.
>>218406829
>>218406402Morgiana is better than The Mememator
>>218406284Because cute girls sell, especially redheaded tomboys. No one would watch it if they were ugly.
>>218406855Hell yeah! Saved
>>218404017I've been meaning to for a few weeks now but I'm worried it might be quirky and underwhelming.
>>218406359>newlet's get you to bed grandpa
>>218406359That tracks, it gives zoomer.>>218408359Fuck off, I don'y take my 2nd nap until 6:00.
>>218408315It's quirky but I wouldn't call it underwhelming. It's also only 1hr 15min so you won't spend half the night watching it.>>218408512You hittin' the sauce early?
I like 60s movies becuase I really really love the female fashion
>>218408927Alright I'm watching it tonight.
I don't like Czech new wave. I get that at the time it was experimental and cutting edge, but watching it now it just feels like high school kids messing around with effects in Windows Moviemaker. Feels way to sophomoric.
Watch Žert (The Joke) - 1969It's so fucking great. No film has ever made me feel as disillusioned as this one.Very sleazy and depressing.
>>218404017I don't like quirky art hoe movies.
>>218408927>plenty of feet shots>both their feet are ruined by shitty commie era footwearWhat a shame.
>>218409638You and me both, brother. Fortunately, fashion is cyclical so it'll never go out of style.>>218410188Fantastic! I hope you enjoy it.>>218410398Just added to my watchlist.
So /tv/...Was he autistic?
>>218406099Go sag your basketball shorts at the gaybar, Darqwantre
>>218410506Anon...
>>218406855how did they do that in '66
>>218410629back then men used to know how to operate a camera
>>218410497Both have nice feet imo. Can't go wrong with long, thin toes.
>>218406121this looks sort of like a swastika to me."we exist, we exist."interesting
>>218410398>>218410500Either of you watch The End of Old Times? It's a great comedy I think goes under the radar a lot.
>can't let them notice we took the food>proceeds to smash her entire fist into the plate to retrieve a single piece of charcuteriethis movie's pretty funny
>>218404017The best movie directed by a woman (other than American Psycho lol)
>>218411012Woman moment
>>218410348I like it because it has a great range of films. Both zany and serious content stuff, and different forms too.
>>218410771sounds based
>>218411338probably wouldn't be that far off either since the movie's from 1966. idk who the director is thoughie
>>218411450director was a nazi collaborator, after the war he was put on trial by the commies but was found innocent of all charges
>>218411637Why would you tell lies on the internet?
>>218411694shalom
>>218410398Didn't know they made a movie of thisI red the book, it's a short novel by Milan kundera, the first he wrote. It was great honestlyWhy was Chzecoslovakia such a based place compared to all the other depressing eastern bloc countries?
>>218410890Alas, I have not.>>218411637>>218411711A woman directed it, numbnuts
>>218406855how did they do back in the day for frames to blend into each other for that trippy effect
>>218404017There are LA "artistes" copying this look, voting for Bernie while touring refugee camps due to wars they never reject or defy. Lefties ruined this for me.
>>218404017I have, it's good. Watch The Girls.
>>218406855KINO!!!!
>>218412240Wars are usually started by Republicucks on behalf of Israel
>>218412062LSD and a dream.>>218412240Kek, I voted for Bernie back in 2016. It's already been ten years huh?>>218412284>Harriet AND Bibi AnderssonIs this who I think it is…? Appreciate the rec either way, just added to my watchlist.
>>218411043This film either pisses you off within five minutes like some anons ITT or you're fully on-board with the wackiness just as fast.
Watch God Wins(and you lose)
i like this film because it reflects my desire to be idle, surround myself with art and plants, and go on little adventures to watch the proles be harmless, good-natured retards
>>218415479Many such cases, it seems.
Just finished watching. Either the humor was lost on me, or it wasn't very funny. Visually superb thoughever.
>>218417038I thought it was hilarious mostly through the constant absurdity of the main characters, how they disregarded everyone else, plus excellent cinematography like you mentioned. It's a 60s Czech film providing commentary on a contemporary domestic food shortage so the humor isn't entirely accessible nowadays; the government even banned it at the time because of how flagrantly the two Maries wasted food throughout. You can't help but laugh at how excessive they are since it was a clear political statement.
>>218417790>how they disregarded everyone elseSo just like 60s Godard films
meh, dedictvi is way better, lol
tried to watch this shit few times, did not finished it, sadly no nude scenes in this like in Valerie and Her Week of Wonders
>>218418657Yeah exactly.
>>218418657>>218420329i was thinking should i watch it, but if you compare it to godard, then it's clearly not worth it
Why do they so rarely make good cinematography anymore? It used to be the norm.
>>218420609It's actually better than any Godard I've seen. For example, La Chinoise was excruciating compared to this.
>>218420636Great question. I genuinely ask myself this every time I watch something pre-1980, most recently with Black Narcissus.
>>218418850Now that's a different film entirely…
I'm not sure why you're so committed to keeping this thread alive, but I respect you for it. Have a bump.
>>218423520Thanks anon, I appreciate that.
>>218410500>>218404017Am I faceblinding ?!
>>218406855Innovative techniques of the past are today's ai sloppa. Sad!
>>218425210LOL
>>218425259It's unbelievably refreshing to watch old kino in an age of nonstop relentless AI.
>>218426768>It's unbelievably refreshing to watch old kino in an age of nonstop relentless AI.Contemporaneous cinema has been trash since before AI became a center-stage thing though. But I agree with the spirit of your sentiment.
