I loved that film. Dunno abouy underrated, maybe a hidden gem. I van take or leave so much blue screen and how much CGI was in it, but I think it was done on a lower budget aside from the big name actors. I dig that 30s and 40s dieselpunk pulp novel feel.
See also The Rocketeer. Though that certainly had more polish and budget, it sadly did not do well when it came out.
