Age Ain't Nothing but a Number is the debut studio album by American singer Aaliyah. It was released on May 24, 1994, by Blackground Records and Jive Records. After being signed by her uncle Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah was introduced to recording artist and producer R. Kelly.

So what's the deal with Vulcans anyway? You got Spock and Tuvok who are basically Gary Stus then you got T'Pol who started off as a Mary Sue but then got really weird and sad near the end. Then you got the Spock from the first episode of Star Trek The Original Series smiling when he plays with plants that make music when you touch them or whatever, then you got Sylar as Spock flipping out and attacking Kirk for talking shit. I mean, I get that Spock is part human, but T'Pol isn't and she always looks like she's about to cry near the end of Enterprise. She also has this weird tan like a Filipina near the end even though the actress almost looks black in other things.

I know Bashir being an augment was a last minute decision, but did they always plan to have some kind of dark secret in his background? In the one where they think he and O'Brien are dead Sisko tells Dax to look up who his parents are, the inconsistent stories about why he wanted to become a doctor, his deliberate wrong answer on the final medical exam, Garak immediately taking interest in him and in the James Bond episode asks if there's a dark secret he's hiding, and Odo asks Bashir if there's anyone on Earth he should check up on and Bashir says no. Was it all just a happy coincidence?

It's n Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, another classic addition to the Canon:Notaro's character comes up with an off-the-cuff command that manages to both raise a smile, and perfectly sum up Jett Reno's personality."Now show me pretty streaks of light" is every bit as dry, sarcastic, and humorous as Reno herself. It's long and awkward compared to other captain catchphrases, but that works perfectly with Reno's unbothered delivery and aversion to social niceties. It's an anti-catchphrase in the same way that Reno is a very atypical Starfleet officer.

>>218533026I also kinda feel for that one Cardassian contact Quark has that gets disappeared by the Obsidian Order, only for the organization to dissolve in the very next season
>>218533168>Carbon CreekThe only thing I remember about the plot of the episode besides Jolene Blalock's silhouetted tits is the b-plot love story with the other vulcan officer and the waitress lady. I guess people thought that was cheesy.
>Archer and Trip watching the 2151 Water Polo championship final (delivered via subspace)>Video quality looks like it was recorded on a camcorder in 1998what the fucking heck?
>>218533310Subspace has low bandwidth
>>218533310you know, in MY day, we were lucky to have any subspace at all. We didn't have the Water Polo channel, we had Federation Public Television and a shopping channel
>>218533257>carbon creekyea that romance was kind of stiff, but then again, seems like the actors were intentionally playing it that way, and doing it well. Just the way the episode unfolds, and then the climax where he decides to stay on earth and they lie to protect him. I wonder if some people don't like the lore-fuckery going on there.
how far does fully functional go? does data have an asshole?
>Watching ENT S1E20 "Oasis">Odo shows up with some shit on his faceIt's not like the preceding episode "Acquisition" with all the Ferengi with Jeffrey Combs and Ethan Phillips and Clint Howard - Ferengi makeup is so heavy you could have anyone take those roles and be unrecognisable. But they basically have Odo look almost exactly the same. It was kind of distracting throughout desu. And weirdly I saw Rene on a Frasier episode a few days ago and it didn't bother me at all. It's not like I'm so autistic I can't stand to see an actor in two different roles.I guess it's cause it was just Trek on Trek. Felt incestuous in a way. Same universe and everything, albeit 220 years apart.
>>218533479yeah you can fuck data in the ass if you ask nicely
The more I watch Star Trek, the more I dislike how subspace communication is even a thing.Instant communication just removes an interesting hurdle for spacefaring civilisations, but on top of that, how it works and what it's limitations are is really ill-defined. What is its range? What happens at the edges of that range? Sometimes they're communicating with people in other systems with ease, other times the thought of doing that when it could be useful just never comes up
>>218533574I was going to bring it back to data dumps. always with the anal with you people.
>>218533597being conveniently retarded (sometimes goodies, sometimes baddies) is the major theme of TNG S1 Half the time an alien could have nefarious intentions, Troi either says nothing or leaves the bridge to take a giant betazoid shit

>>218533604i'm just saying data would let you do it, the same way he went long with it when tasha just grabbed him and dragged him into her bed. he has no feelings attached to sex so it's all the same to him.
>>218533597distance and travel times in general is also played pretty loosely in star trek. it would have taken voyager 70 years at max warp to get home from the delta quadrant but starfleet seems to strut across pretty vast portions of their quadrant without much time
>>218533514On top of that the episode is pretty much a retread of an Odo 'sode (Shadowplay).
TNG was the first Fake Trek.
>>218534043TOS has 2 really good episodes (balance of terror and the doomsday machine), and 1 pretty good episode (the conscience of the king). the rest range between not bad and awful (the omega glory)

Been rewatching DS9. It's really jarring how Sisko goes from thinking its weird that Bajorans call him Emissary to being Starfleet's biggest Bajoraboo basically overnight once he grows the beard.

so the original series invalidates all of strange new worlds cause in the last episode right at the beginning of it a woman says that Starfleet academy does not allow women captains and as far as i am aware strange new worlds takes place entirely before the original series
>>218547054>>218547532Also that episode with the fake emissary that wants to bring back the Bajoran caste system
>>218549159This, however, is not necessarily a contradiction. Lester's line "Your world of starship captains does not admit women" might not have been intended to mean "Starfleet doesn't allow women starship captains," but rather could have meant that Kirk's world as a starship captain did not (and, by a necessity she refused to appreciate, could not) include her, since they were talking about their relationship, not Starfleet. Leonard Nimoy has stated in interviews that the line was Gene Roddenberry affirming that women cannot be starship captains.
