It was fine, just a goofy vampire movie they tried to tack a serious ending onto. I’d say the awards it was nominated for / given were overly generous, not entirely undeserved but we all know why its importance is overstated.

It's a watchable film, but it's not an award worthy one. It's a B list vampire flick. There's NOTHING extraordinary about it. Watching Buddy Guy at the end struggling to fucking breathe is an embarrassment to everyone involved.

It is a good film if your reference is the average movie released in the last 10 years.
It's a bad movie by any other metric.
The average person watches whatever shows up on their Netflix top 10 recommended screen, so it's not surprising so many people think it's a good movie comparatively.
