Originally it was just going to be that Marty puts everything back how it was and his reward is his normal life that he can appreciate now. They decided to change it to end with Marty’s family now being rich since George became a successful sci fi author. Glover complained that this fundamentally changed the message of the movie and wasn’t what he signed on for. All of this to say that I liked that Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie essentially delivered that ending.
