Her friend group weren't complete losers, but they weren't anything special either, and they never really pretended they were.Now don't get me wrong, it's a product of its time. If it were made 6-10 years later - it would have been put through a very different lens. Look at "I Love LA", it's moderately attractive women who do nothing, stand for nothing, and are literally nothing - but we're supposed to stand up and cheer for them, because womyn.

I feel bad for people who become obese as a child and carry that weight into adulthood, because a lot of that is out of their control, as a kid you have no agency and it's really because of others and your upbringing you can develop bad eating habits. Not to mention it's really hard to lose weight when you've already gone through puberty carrying a lot of weight.But to get to these gargantuan proportions as an adult when you were only ever really a little chubby at most beforehand is inexcusable. And having all the money and resources in the world to educate yourself on how to eat better, to buy good quality food, have access to the best fitness and medical resources available because of where you live and your wealth, it is just insane.
