>stars the most popular person of the decade at the peak of her popularity >movie is designed around mass appeal (sex, violence, humor)>massive marketing campaign Why did Barb Wire fail so badly? The movie is a boring piece of shit, but that’s usually not a problem.
>>218607912Nudity doesn't sell People go to cinema with their families and friends Nobody wants to see some vile coomer trash
>>218607912>Why did Barb Wire fail so badly? The movie is a boring piece of shit, but that’s usually not a problem.this was the first big '...yeah, ill wait to rent that on video' movie. R rating so the highschool crowd did hit. Not a date movie or something for the family
Pamela Anderson looked stiff and angry throughout the movie. She lacked the joyfull cheeryness which Monroe and every other blonde had before her. Her fake tits and blonde hair did her no good. It easy to spot how she drains and zaps out the energy from each scene she's in:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ARqfD6Wm3Ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8fWZBppa7IIt's like she's just working. One mechanical movement and a line/reply delivered robotically after another. She's basically Arnold but with no smile. She'd be a terrific Terminator. But she was no Barb Wire. That character had some spunk in her, the action, the comeback, a classic superhero which needs a competent actress to make her right. It's sad but it's almost the reverse problem of Halle Berry in Catwoman.>>218607977Nah, Anora and Housemaid has been some of the more successful movies lately. >>218608559Showgirls preceeded it by a year but you're spot on with the rent it on video explanation. The 90s was a different beast.
>>218607912It was a dystopian B-movie and the 90s were crowded with post-apocalyptic and dystopian movies. Boobs weren't enough.
>>218608885Anora had oscar campaign and minimial budget Housemaid was based on best selling book for women and had barely any nudity
>>218607977Die in a fire Zoomer. I watched Sparticus and Game of Thrones with my family and those were full of nudity and sex.
>>218608991Lol the most panned episode of game of thrones is when sansa got raped
>>218607912It's not an awful film, but it's a bit boring. And if sex appeal is meant to be the hook, then it should have been more sexy. Pam wears some kinky outfits and titillates us to a small extent, but there's nothing to go wild about here. It's actually very tame.
