Why do women have such bad taste in film?
>>
>>218609982
Women don't watch films
>>
>>218609982
Beauty and the Beast being ranked as the 40th greatest film of all-time is just beyond fucked up. You know Marty Sheen almost died during the shooting of Apocalypse Now? The man gave every single facet of himself in that movie and they potentially champion ANIMATION, something so cheap, so lowbrow over the greatest film of all-time. People have died for this medium, Vic Morrow died for this medium, Brandon Lee, Heath Ledger died for this and these piece of fucking shit cunts rank Disneyslop in the top 50 as a shallow expression of feminism that isn't even real.

They say the same thing about you + they have sex. To me they seem like the winner here.

Reminder this isn't the best films by women and men, it's the two films that have the biggest DIVERGENCE. As in the most polarizing where either men loved or and women hated it or the opposite.

This means that films like The Godfather are loved by women.

You can see most of the men's films are mostly war films, westerns, and incel films. No group of gals says "Man, time for us ladies to watch A Few Dollars More".
>>
>>218609982
Eh, at least their list feels honest. The men's list feels performative. I don't believe for a moment the majority of modern men care about old movies.
>t. someone who likes old movies
>>
Again the issue with posting this here is that most of you have only seen the trash on the female list
>>
Fuck women
>>
>>218610241
Bottom is mostly old war films, samurai films, and the like. It's guyslop.
>>
>>218610241
The men's ranking is definitely sincere because it aligns with the values of men, tradition, discovery, respect for elders, enduring hardship, triumph over evil.
>>
>>218609982

End

Kill yourself faggot simp

Since this comes up: These are the films with the most divergence. Women still like the top films on imdb that aren't on this list. The actual top list should be seen as the films liked by men and women.
>>
Have you ever tried having a deeper conversation with a woman? They're incredibly banal creatures, very vacuous
>>
>>218610443
All great movies except Pulp Fiction. Meanwhile women love shitty romcoms
>>
>>218610454
>They're incredibly banal creatures, very vacuous
That's most people.
>>
>>218610443
>A comedy in the top 10
Bravo Spielberg
>>
>>218609982
Tbh I highly doubt the average guy has seen half of those movies on the men's list
>>
Why the hell did men rank The Great Escape so low?
It has to be those europoors mad at the 4th of july scene, the best scene in the movie, because I cannot think of any rational reason why anyone would rank it below at least 50
>>
Looks like women are more nostalgia-brained than men are which makes all the live-action disney remakes seem like a much better marketing decision. And also seems to fly in the face of the narrative that's been bandied that men are retarded nostalgia-slop consumers.
Also, women don't like violence unless it's a revenge movie which seems obvious from every woman i've ever known.
>>
>>218609982
>every single one of these they ranked as one of the best 100 movies ever made

total women death
>>
>>218610686
I watch 3-5 movies every single day and I've only seen The Thing (2011)
>>
>>218610686
to their detriment. but normies are who the fuckin 500th batman movie is being made for
>>
>>218610056
I would be curious what the size is for each cohort and what they're doing with people that don't bother to tick a gender box in a profile, but either way i'd gotta bet that the woman number is so much lower than the than whatever men is to make these comparisons pointless.

>Why the hell did men rank The Great Escape so low?

As a film it looks pretty banal. There's a lot of films before the New Hollywood era that look very blase and dated. It's thoroughly okay, but nothing special. New Hollywood films got a lot of attention because they looked fresh, were filmed in a more artistic and engaging manner, and were willing to take more chances.
>>
>>218609982
Most people have bad taste in film, probably bad taste in most things. Women's taste is still probably a bit worse though.
Why? Women need to fit in more than men. They'd feel "weird" if they "got into film" like a real film nerd. So they have to vaguely like whatever films correlate with their interests. The interests that they think they're supposed to have, what their environments have pressured them to be interested in.
>>
>>218610369
You'll never get pussy
>>
>>218610721
It's not that great and not even the best WW2 POW camp movie by far.
>>
>>218609982
It's feeling vs thinking. This is a very basic difference between men and women. Men are more likely to give a high rating to films they find intellectually stimulating. Women are more likely to give a high rating to films they find emotionally stimulating. Most of the movies on the female list are romances or ones they're likely to feel nostalgic for.

all my homies only cared about Harry Potter to get to second base
>>
>>218610225
>You can see ... incel films.
You shouldn't even have this term pop up in your head to give you an opportunity not to say it. You're a retard. And I've had more sex than you with better looking women.
>>
>>218609982
Unironically I'm grateful my gf loves sleazy 80s B-horror movies instead of the typical foid slop. Her taste in film is bad but it at least makes her more interesting than 99% of women. Even if I am forced to sit down and watch goofy shit like The Stuff.
>>
>>218610721
It's a snoozefest and the only thing about it that is enjoyable is the theme song. Same with other boomerslop like Bonanza.
>>
>>218610454
>>218610502
Yeah it's sad. I started to notice a long time ago, even genuinely very very smart people, with super smart credential X, Y, and Z, whether they're men or women, are pretty superficial most of the time. They think the brain is for 1. making money, and 2. interpersonal stuff, then you turn it off for everything else. You're a heckin nerd! if you use your brain outside work and such.
>>
>>218611335
There's a bunch of films boomers loved that's really dated and bland, and gives old films a bad name.
>>
if they had good taste they wouldnt be women
>>
>>218609982
>No master and commander
You guys told me that women would never get it. They probably get it just fine

Wasn't American Psycho written (the screenplay) and directed entirely by two women?
>>
>>218609982
How does Fast Times at Ridgemont High rank among both Men and Women?
>>
>>218609982
Taare Zameen Par is the only film on that list worth watching
>>

>>
>>218614233

Most rules have some sort of exception which merely goes to prove the general, if not universal, validity of the rule in the first place. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. All memes aside, American Psycho is an interesting film with certain charms, but it's also not a work of staggering genius or anything.
>>
>>218616235
>but it's also not a work of staggering genius or anything.
shut the fuck up midwit redditor
>>
>>218614233
There was a moral panic about the book and film at the time, which is now completely forgotten about. The satire elements of the book and film are now really obvious. however, at the time it was just seen as a sick twisted murder-fantasy story and deeply misogynistic. They hired a woman as a director as a form of stunt casting to avoid those accusations.

The average women actually has much better taste than the average man. Most men only like Star Wars and marvel slop
>>
>>218618284
I have never seen any of these movies.
>>
>>218610225
I wouldn't say it ends there. Letterboxd is female dominated and it shows bigly across every rating on the site. I'm not sure if women care about anything but feelies and self inserting themselves into those feelies so I doubt they can be seen as an overall arbiter of film quality when films are much more multi-faceted than that
>>
>>218609982
On the whole, their brains are smaller and have had less adaptation due to a relative lack of evolutionary stressors. For millenia, women could coast on the innovations and hardships of man, of whom, only the smartest and strongest would survive. So technically, it's not their fault, and they can't really help it — they're trying their best.
