I finally watched the movie /tv/ has been seething about for a year. It's pretty good! MBJ is good too. idk if it's Oscar worthy, but too many here dismissed it as worthless.
I lasted something like 20minutes. It has this super cliched Tarantinesque vibe to it. Also, I couldn't understand most of the dialogues (looks like I'm not too fluent in ebonics...).

Despite her not liking horror one bit she enjoyed the movie more than me (I thought it stumbled in the third act), so I have to give credit to Ryan Coogler for being able to make a film like this with broad appeal. The music was great but using old folk music is almost cheating, Goransson is a hack.

The last 30 minutes are pretty weak. But overall, it's fine.
