I recently got more interested in this as I learned Vittorio Storaro was the DOP for this. If you don't know he shot films such as Apocalypse Now, Dick Tracy, The Last Emperor, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Ladyhawke and 1900.

>>218637397Some are written better than the others. The first six are by the original author, I've only read those. A lot of people agree Dune, Dune Messiah, and God Emperor are usually their favorites. Some like Children of Dune, others dont. Overall I enjoyed the original 6. It added a lot more context to what was going on compared to the original movie. The series to me is closest to the books. Not a fan at all of the new movies.

Just finished watching Children of Dune (2003). I'm gonna be honest, it was really boring and lame compared to the Dune (2000). Maybe it's the source material itself, I don't know, but it felt like nothing happened the entire time and then Alia goes full schizo and kills herself, the end. I guess Leto decides to become a worm and run around like Flash for some reason as well.
