I found it shallow and pedantic

That shit is for NPR liberals who think they are in touch with black culture but go home to their white neighbourhood. Far away from any filthy coons that they admire so much
>>
>>218633067
You remind me of those people who used to make fun of someone listening to Eminem all while liking and listening to /mu/core shit like animal collective, brand new or even lil peep. People like this are always the funniest

Let’s be honest, if a group of Indians made this music you wouldn’t give a shit. But their yellow skin and gook speech puts low t white males under this spell, they MUST praise it. Never seen anything like weebs
>>
>>218632674
how is it boring?
>>
>>218634095
I am genuinely not a weeb, I don't watch anime and I don't give a shit about japan, I certainly don't want to live there, and I love both Fishmans and Long Season to death

Listen to it. It doesn’t evoke anything, doesn’t make you wanna dance, fuck, feel sad, excited, nostalgic, etc. It’s clear they just wanted to make a bunch of sounds and melodies they think sound cool to impress children

>It’s clear they just wanted to make a bunch of sounds and melodies
It's more or less 1 song that is the same rhythm and melody throughout, that keeps building and adding elements to it, you make it sound like it's just 38 minutes of free improvisation made to impress pretentious snobs or something, it's got a very clear structure. There's the percussive bridge that gets kind of wild and crazy but after that it goes straight back.

Also, it definitely makes me feel good and happy listening to it. Also not the same album but you may be dead inside if this doesn't make you feel anything, despite not understanding a word he's singing about

Prob some Miyazaki shit
>>

that's how it works. most people don't give a fuck about american music if america is like india. 90s japan is something so some people care. why would you think like only japan gets special treatment?
>>
>>218636467
And that musical refrain is no where interesting enough to make an entire album out of. Can you imagine a classical concert and every movement was just a variation of some simple boring melody and repetitive background keys making the same 3 chord progression? People would go crazy, not weebs though

>And that musical refrain is no where interesting enough to make an entire album out of
the fact that it is a beloved and popular album proves you wrong, though. Stop acting like the arbiter of art, lmao you sound like a fag
>actually it's too repetitive to be good by my objective analysis of the chord progression!
You're the pretentious fag, literally just listen to the music and feel it stop doing whatever this is.
>>
>>218636813
>popular album
You’re a delusional embarrassing weeb
>literally just listen to the music and feel it stop doing whatever this is
I told you this album makes it incapable of doing that you retarded tasteless sperg
>>
>be japan
>have massive identity crisis
>start making weird shit
>be always ignored by mainstream
>keep making shit
>finally get some praise
>people say it's because japan gets special treatment unfairly anyway
>repeat
fuck this gay earth man
>>
>>218637037
>delusional
So it's not popular then, is that your claim? Define popularity, because I don't think popularity has to mean that it has Queen or Led Zeppelin level fandom

I love the last 7 or so minutes the most. After they do the quiet electric part where the sound dies down and then comes back full force for the finale.

If I had to think of a similar film off the top of my head maybe Heat. The way it winds down a bit after they escape the heist gone wrong and it seems like DeNiro's character is about to go for the easy out before he slides back one more time to finish the job I guess has a similar energy. Really any movie that has that climax-after-the-climax structure I think can fit there.

>>218637210
It’s not popular, meaning you could only discuss this music with the other internet weebs in the very small internet fanclub circles, like a dream pop thread on /mu/ or Rate Your Music for example. If you played it in your car with other people there, they’d probably hope you pulled over so that they could get out and walk
