Casino Royale and Dr. No are each worth seeing once but it's all capeshit. Almost every movie feels like it was written by AI.

the old Bond movies are the most idiosyncratic blockbusters ever madethey were a family business, in England instead of Hollywood, using Thunderbirds miniatures for SFX, with the same crew coming back movie after movie.that crew kept iterating on their craft, with the 80s Bond having the best stunts, sets, and effects of any action movies. but at the same time, they were cranking these movies out every two years, so mistakes and janky elements made their way in, which made the movies even more charmingall of the pre-Brosnan Bonds are great in their own ways, and the first two Brosnans are almost as good.
