>Let's just cram all our soldiers into rickety boats and then dump onto the beach to run directly into machinegun fire with no cover or air support.

What the fuck were they thinking?
>>
>>218638986
It literally worked
>>
>>218639010
but at what cost
>>
>>218638986
Why didn't they put the doors on the side that swing out so they could at least use it as cover?
>>
>>218639037
Just enough
>>
why didn’t the germans just not invade france?
>>
>>218639038
People would get choked at the landing and be too afraid to storm the beach, which was the essence of the plane. If they stopped to take cover they’d never overwhelm the machine gun nests
>>
>>218639129
*plan
>>
>>218638986
Operating Meat Wave worked because we simply had a numbers advantage, eventually they'd be out of bullets before we were out of poor people
>>
>>218639037
>but at what cost
10k casualties, 4144 killed. It's fucking wild how little that is.
>>
>>218638986
Airborne divisions were dropped behind their lines, bombers conducted raids and naval vessels shelled the beaches prior to the amphibious landings. They softened them up as much as they thought they could while still having some element of surprise.
>>
>>218638986
>just
thats not all they did
>rickety
not at all, armored
>no cover or air support.
youre dumb
>>
>>218639037
shipbuildin ya knooooow? Putting good fuckin boys to work and Thatcher fuckin Thatcher

Who cares about a bunch of goyim?
>>

The MG42s were back in the dunes. Not in massive bunkers right in front of the transport ships. This part of the film is inaccurate.
There is one machine gunner German who claims to have shot 1-2000 troops. idk he's probably full of shit who knows.
>>
>>218639037
Relatively small compared to the cost of the entire war that Germany and Russia jointly started.

51,000 over 3 days at Gettysburg

losing some 18 year old 4th son from a family is less tragic than losing the family father.
this is why all armies throughout history heavily relied on the age bracket 18-25 to do the gruntwork, plus peak physical fitness
>>
>>218639037
A lot less than the Russians paid

when you look at the start of americas involvement into WW2, their doctrine was a disaster and just saw on paper, fuck we got more dudes and more guns. For a “superpower” that had never really fought a proper land war in 80 years(WW1 was clean up duty and plenty of doughboys got sent home in body bags) let alone one that its own supply lines spanned a hostile ocean, it was about the best they could do. D day to berlin was 11 months, not fast but because it couldn’t be. you had dudes that have only played war games and pretend landing. sure the guys over in the pacific learned island hopping and in part was why the zerg rush strat was given the green light. you have to take a beachhead and overwhelm. as for why not pre bombing, they mostly hit targets further inland so once the troops from the landing craft made it through could waltz through friendlyish territory as fast as possible and if you just hit the fuck out of one point it’s pretty obvious where you’re gonna invade from and let’s more fortifications be put in place just behind the line. the initial progress was good but then fighting became hard vs veteran soldiers when your own basic training was very rudimentary and a generation of warfare behind. they basically came up with it as they went on a regimental level with the grand strategy being not much better than soviet waves, albeit we had better success with functional air support, mixed infantry support, and artillery compared to the reds. alright anyways thanks for reading my blog

Goyim blood sacrifices please the jews.

>>218638986
Grunt soldiers are treated like expendable garbage. They always have and always will be.

Why were the soldiers in Generation Kill sent in tin can Humvees against thousands of enemies and even possible tanks?
>>
>>218639164
Don't correct yourself. It makes you look weak and it helps trach esls

>The MG42s were back in the dunes. Not in massive bunkers right in front of the transport ships. This part of the film is inaccurate.
And this is how it's depicted in every single piece of media since this movie released.

I'm bored of Normandy. I'm Normaned out. I don't want to see rain-sodden chalky french farmland anymore.

Meanwhile, the jews were putting on plays, swimming, giving birth inside a hospital, forming a band, etc.

>when you look at the start of americas involvement into WW2,
They were involved from the start, you fucking retard. US destroyers were escorting convoys in the Atlantic in 1940, after Pearl Harbor was bombed, the first strikes against Japan were by US subs against Japanese shipping. The battle of Midway was a decisive victory that immediately turned back the IJN, as was the retaking of Guadalcanal.

The US didn't "get" into the war all of a sudden on June 6th, 1944, you fucking retard. They spent years strategically building up supplies and reinforcing England before the channel invasion could be attempted, as well as fighting two other fronts, one in the Atlantic, and one in the Pacific, years before D Day ever happened
>>
>>218639477
that was a fuckin science back in ma day son
the science a putting boys into work n sending fuckin ships… to sea
>>
Why is everyone here acting like every part of the operation was as bloody as Omaha? That's the one that gets attention precisely because it was the bloodiest, but it was just one of five landing points.
>>
>>218641886
and then fuckin thatcher
>>
>>218641963
Because Point Du Hoc was cooler. At least Point Du Hoc had some real fortifications.
>>
Weird that so many young men would just go to a foreign country to die. Can't imagine that happening today.
>>
>>218639086
france declared war on germany
what were the germans supposed to do, just stand there and wait..?
>>
>>218640833
Is this bait? There's so many casual misunderstandings here that it's hard to believe someone with even half the facts could come to these conclusions.
>>
>>218642195
The French and British were huge pussies and only did a token offensive when they had the advantage while the Germans were busy in Poland. It's no wonder the Germans got so cocky when the Allied strategy was basically non-existent before the Americans got involved.
>>
>>218638986
>What the fuck were they thinking?
Churchill would stop at nothing to please his zionist masters.
>>
>>218642811
British high command wanted to keep going with the Italian "soft underbelly" strategy ackchually.

>>218641690
no fucking shit you mong. my bad on the lack of clarification but anyone with half a sense could glean i meant with actual boots on the ground in europe. i hope you fucking die in a car fire
>>
>>218642976
Americans had men in Europe by 1943
>>
>>218639037
Look, if they didn't, then everyone in Europe might be speaking German instead of Arabic
>>
>>218643393
>he thinks germany had any chance of winning
>>
>>218639819
‘The beast of Omaha’ Heinrich Severloh, whose claims are considered spurious because if true he would have personally accounted for almost half the casualties on Omaha Beach.
>>
>>218642976
You clearly literally thought the US didn't enter the war until June 6, 1944

Lmao
