Completely shits on all the other people on this list.GREAT TIER:Denzel Washington (Training Day) - Easily one of the Academy's most inspired choices. Not even close to being on the same level as Whitaker, but it's still a damn fine performance. Definitely the best of that year's nominees.GOOD TIER:Sidney Poitier (Lilies of the Field) - Really only remembered for being the first Black man to win the Oscar. It's nothing special. Good performance.MEME TIER:Jamie Foxx (Ray) - Dude is a fucking shit actor. I honestly don't know how he won for this performance. It felt more like a fucking parody/SNL skit. Will Smith (King Richard) - Just meh. A pretty average Will Smith performance, which isn't saying much. Doesn't touch his performance in Pursuit of Happyness. This was a career award.DOGSHIT TIER:Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) - Literally a DEI award. He won because they couldn't have an all-white winning lineup. That's literally it. His performance was in no way Oscar worthy. By far the weakest of all the nominees. Honestly, he probably only won because he got called the n word at the BAFTAs lol. Absolute joke of a win. Ethan Hawke or Wagner Moura should've won.
