After witnessing an assassination near you the correct course of action is to run after the assassin but not to attempt to subdue him (or her) but to just yell "oh my god how could you assassinate sir! sir! how can you assassinate??" and just generally pester them until they reach one of those staircases that descend towards a metro station. then you just revert back to your idle walk animation and head towards a random destination on foot.

I’d have whipped out my trusty Victorinox Swisstool, opened to the convenient and durable wire-cutter that can be de-loved in under two seconds, and cut the wire flush with the feed mechanism. The Swisstool can deploy the wire cutter and pliers faster than any Leatherman tool, and in moments like this when your life is on the line, the Victorinox Swisstool is the implement of choice.
Don’t trust your life to inferior multitools. The Victorinox Swisstool is the only multitool you need.

the doesnt exist 9000
>the baseline power of a motor is determined by the amount of copper thats in it, no way of getting around this rule
>in order to increase the power of a motor, you can add gearing, but now you are lowering the top speed of the motors spin to increase the torque
>the voltage of a battery is determined by its chemistry, and the size determines the current, no way of getting around this rule
>the most powerful battery that you could fit in that size is pathetically weak
so lets imagine it has the best battery and the best motor, how much force could it exert on a struggling man?
>the first second it goes on it was working as normal
>after he puts up even the smallest amount of resistance, the voltage of the battery will drop, and electricity will now start converting into heat within the motors windings
>now he is resisting a motor that is weaker than it was in the first second, he fights more and the voltage falls even further and even more heat is dumped into the motor
>finally the motor reaches "stall current" and all of the electricity of the battery is being converted into heat and burning out the motor
the noose no longer tightens and he has an uncomfortable few minutes finding a way of cutting it off
it needed to be way bigger and it cant be a wire it has to be a chain

it's a steel cable. as soon as it's taut on you, you're fucked. your only chance would be to break the motor somehow.
>>
>>218650521
when you say a multi tool cant cut steel cable, you mean it cant cut it cleanly in one go. you can take multiple bites and get through it

>>218647965
The Leatherman is a poor substitute for the Victorinox Swisstool. The Victorinox Swisstool’s wire cutter/pliers combo is available as soon as you open the tool, whereas the Leatherman normally requires a second or third step. When seconds matter, the Victorinox Swisstool will get you free while you will DIE fumbling with a Leatherman.
>>
>>218648687
The Victorinox Swisstool can cut through all forms of wire AND braided cable up to 5mm thick with ease. Steel, copper, carbon fibre, titanium: the cold-hardened edges of the Victorinox Swisstool‘s wire cutter can cut them all with ease.

>>218654954
You don’t need to attack the motor when the Victorinox Swisstool is easily capable of cutting a steel wire of that thickness.

>>218655041
Maybe. But why take the risk, when the Victorinox Swisstool is an affordable, rugged, fast-deploying system suitable for all your anti-garotte needs? Plus it’s quick deploy capability only requires one hand and carries no risk of you accidentally cutting yourself should the pocket k ore blade slip or twist. Clearly the Victorinox Swisstool is the superior choice.

>>
>>218644998
In the film, probably just died. Since it's canonically some sort of impossible-to-cut "unholy alloy".
IRL, I'm not sure this device makes any sense. I guess you could engineer a motor this small with a pretty high gear ratio but it would require some work. Then you would also need incredibly sharp thin wire (that also does not destroy the gears pulling it in somehow), then you would need a battery that powers it for long enough, and then you are still leaving the murder weapon (presumably with all the fingerprints) on the body which would help law enforcement catch the killer. And if they're not afraid of getting caught then why not just shoot the guy?
>>
That motor looks much to small for that application. I think i could probably get a tiny dc motor like that to burn up with just mah neck.

The Victorinox Swisstool was also the multitool used by Renner’s character in ‘The Hurt Locker’ too. If multitools were Hollywood, the Victorinox Swisstool would be Kurosawa’s choice, for sure.

>a battery that powers it for long enough
That's the most sic-fi part, given that it could be held in place via an object, such as a steel ladle or bar, until the battery either drains or the motor burns out / gear get shorn... Keeping in mind that, to get it over the head in such a manner, the hoop would have to be considerable larger than the targets noggin -- giving them a lot of initial manoeuvering room.
>>
>>218644998
I keep a pair of wire cutters in my pocket for this exact scenario.
>>
>>218659039
In the video you can see the assassin pull a cord to tighten it. Kind of like a zip tie. Place it over the head, tighten it and it also triggers the motor which then continues to tighten.
>>
Israeli assassins killed the head of Iran's nuclear program a few years back by putting a remote controlled machine gun on the side of the road and activating it when his car went by
>>
>>218644998
Immediately pull out my CC and shoot the controlling motor, while (hopefully) being clearheaded enough to aim parallel to my neck/head. Best case scenario is it shatters and I lose hearing in that ear and get some contact burns, but I can then pull the wire out to loosen it and pull the thing off with only a minor cut all around my neck. I then flee the country because if I pissed off a drug cartel enough for them to assassinate me in public in broad daylight that means they're pissed off enough to try killing me again

If that doesn't work than I guess I either keep trying to shoot it until I die, try and shoot the assassin in the back as he runs away, shoot myself in the head for an instant death, or just sit there and accept my fate and hope I don't piss/shit my pants after my head falls off

>the assassin pull a cord to tighten it
That makes it even more sci-fi... In fact, given that he seemed congnisant of what the device was doing, it must have been a known method of assassination; which means that contingencies would have been available in the universe that the device exists in.
>>
>>218656096
>affordable
>>
>>218659336
How is it scifi? The mechanism to trigger the motor starts when the loop passes a certain point of constriction. Slip it on, tighten it a bit, which triggers the motor and then it slowly keeps tightening. Do you think this is scifi technology?

Why, when the Victorinox Swisstool will cut wire just as well, but also packs screwdrivers, a serrated and non-serrated blade, and more?
>>
>>218646232
Big cities are CCTV nightmares. This dude wasn't wearing a mask. Someone who put such a device on someone in public like that would make the national if not international news. The ever prevalent big city surveillance state would show police his every move and the sheer oddity of every aspect of the assassination would have the case be a priority for the law to solve.

The whole thing is retarded, dude would've been less noticeable if he had've been wearing a hoodie and just bashed Pitt's head with a hammer.

It’s certainly affordable when compared to getting your head cut off by an automated garrotte.

If I wanted another one I could get one (Victorinox 3.0323.L Swiss Army Swisstool, Silver, 115mm ) from Amazon for $265 Australian dollars. That’s less than a day’s pay for me, are you poor?

A Leatherman requires several actions to deploy the pliers whereas the Victorinox Swisstool only needs one. When an international assassin drops an automated garrotte over your head and you’re fumbling for your Leatherman, the Victorinox Swisstool user has already cut himself free and knocked the assassin unconscious with the solid, robust construction for which Victorinox is justly renowned.

still to this day retards praising this and legit believe its possible
the amount of power and force required to cut through bone like someone's spinal cord is insane, no your little 2 pound motor with a battery the size of a quarter is not going to decapitate someone

its all for dramatic effect, the real device would have just strangled him and locked it and tightened with no way to undo
at that point you just shoot him or stab him with poison, but retards like you want dramatic elongated death scenes

WHAT TO DO IF SOMEONE PUTS A BOLITO AROUND YOUR NECK:

— Get a small metal object (a key, preferably, or failing that, a pen)
— Slide this between the wire and your neck, near where the machine is pulling the wire into itself
— Twist it round to make a loop in the wire
— As the wire tightens, the little sort-of-knot will be pulled up against the side of the machine
— It will jam against the intake
— It will burn out the motor
— If you aren't strangled, you can now find some way of cutting the thing

If you don't have a key or anything you *might* be able to do it with the tongue of a belt buckle.

The Reason why US Marines are called "Leathernecks" is because when they were in the (iirc) Philippines the filipinos had a habit of sneaking up on the Marines in the jungle and cutting their throats.
