Why did this win Best Picture?
>>
Because the oscars are a leftist circlejerk. Next question
>>
>>218648567
Because it was a lot better than Sinners
>>
>>218648567
Idk. I watched both trailers for these goyflicks and couldn't finish neither. If this and sinners is the best hollywood can do in current year then it truly is over. Might pirate dunc 3 and just log off forever
>>
>>218648567
Because it’s really about a black woman progressing the story as the white male lead fails at anything over and over again. The entire time Leo is just falling on his ass and not knowing what to do
>>
>>218648567
Because it "speaks to the times". It will age badly.
>>
Cause no one watches the oscars anymore so they just 6 7 it.

I don’t know, I thought it was pretty weak and I’m a PTA fan.

The world you live in is divorced from reality. Are you on SSRIs?
>>
>>218649053
This. You could tell that the reveal of the deep state being WASPs that worship Christmas and Santa was supposed to be the big shocking wtf twist reveal a lot of movies do lately to get people talking about how wild and crazy the story turns(like off the top of my head how Get Out’s was the white people wanting to literally be black and transfer bodies) but it’s not really interesting or explored at all
>>
>>218648567
Because it was pretty good.
>>
Lifetime achievement award for PTA
Oscars do it all the time
>>
>>218648567
I mean I thought it was pretty fucking funny. Everyone was like a cartoon character. Kind of reminded me of Burn After Reading actually. Just a big ol' clusterfuck.
>>
it was either this or Sinners. pick your poison
>>
>>218649295
>Get Out’s was the white people wanting to literally be black and transfer bodies
Jesus. I wouldn't ever watch a movie that was hyped up for DEI reasons, but I didn't expect it would be this stupid. fuck
>>
Which 2025 movie should have won?
>>
>>218648567

because they decided PTA was due one even though this shit was worse than Inherent Vice

Now you know why the budget was so inexplicably high. It including payoffs for best picture.

That's not even the worst part about it. They basically say it's a full on brain transferal but somehow camera flashes "brings back the spirit of the black people momentarily" or some shit. It doesn't even stay consistent to the story's logic.
>>

You didn't watch the movie lmao

Because Hollywood is full of turbo faggots who jump on any type of nigger loving, ANTIFA promoting “message” within any type of mass media. I’m not shocked it won Best Picture. I saw it coming a mile away. Hollywood is nothing but nigger worship at its finest.
>>
>>218648567
Because it was the best movie released in 2025. That's the usual reason.

Better yet, why did this slop win? You shouldn't care about who wins. This board is a better judge and would probably mean more to the winners. Imagine if we all voted and sent awards to the winners.

I literally saw it in theaters but ok
From the synopsis
>Chris awakens strapped to an armchair in the basement. In a video, an old man, who introduces himself as Roman Armitage, explains that his family transplants the brains of their wealthy friends into black people's bodies to acquire their desirable physical characteristics, leaving the host's consciousness trapped in the sunken place
Ready to apologize for acting snippy and gay to people more intelligent than you and defending this stupid as shit movie?

It's theater nerd slop.
Every character is a retarded, overly emotional dick written like what a 14 year old thinks adults are like.
Which is what PTA always does. All of his movies are like this.

What Marvel and DC movies are to comic book nerds, PTA movies are theater nerds. And theater nerds are the ones voting on Best Picture.

Right wing people have to hide their politics. You have to guess they are right wing. I personally thought First Man with Goose was very right wing. Also Gone with the Wind is very right wing, and it still holds up as a classic.

Genuinely curious what you found so exciting about this? It is filmed well and has good action but the story sucks so bad, it's like watching an archival of stock footage for music videos. Bugonia hooked me from beginning to end but it obviously wasn't going to win for not being as over the top
>>
>>218649479
Weapons was decent.
Frankenstein was the movie equivalent to reheated 2 day old pasta, will eat it, will enjoy it, but it's a blander version of something i already ate.
The rest make me want to commit public immolation, the bar is low, but Weapons might be the only one i remember 2 years from now.
>>
>>218654174
they're right to do so even though it should theoretically be something they support. AI radically democratizes art, which is bad because most people are actual retards who were systematically kept away from the reins of artistic executive control by the machinations of the film and music industries, flawed as they are, and the commitment of leisure time required to git gud at any art form (necessarily impossible for poors/turd worlders). AI "art" looses the senseless masses on the world of art/media not just as consumers but as creators, which will inevitably corrode art as a whole to a point where it falls apart entirely. maybe something cool will happen then, but probably not, because AI tech will still be contracted through fagtarded silicon valley services that prevent total decentralization

What a fucking leap in logic. There is no coherence to this argument. You're even saying that now anyone can be a decent creative without having to put in a ton of effort. You've already qualified them, in your argument, as putting out decent quality work via AI, there's no degradation or corrosion inherent in what you're saying.
>>
>>218655055
it's bad because it floods the world with regression-to-the-mean meaningless waste. annihilation of art in the most literal sense, an algorithmic reduction to nothingness. at any time before ~2021 an image you saw online at least indicated that someone cared anough to press the shutter button and create it. anyone can make art that scans as "good" with your eyes half crossed and your attention somewhere else. that isn't a win for anyone who cares even a little about what they put inside their head all day and i would guarantee you follow very few "AI artists" which you naturally should if you actually believe what you're saying
>>
>>218650699
>Leftists: Make condecending insufferable holier-then-thou crap.
Most of what they make is centered around the urban elites own banal predjudices and 1st world problems. It's gotten so bad they're incapable of understanding why normal people don't love obnxious in-you-face feminists/etc messaging.
>Rightists: make bland forgettable by-the-numbers crap
They tend to be utilitarian to the point of lacking artistry & vision (95% of what they make is a seething reaction to woke crap (example: dailywires "Snow White and the Evil Queen").
...
Basically Leftists movies are like a urban bar that used to be cool but is now plastered in rainbow flags, only serves vegan algae drinks and is full of hostile activists who want you beg for the privledge of being there. While right wing movies are like a stripmall franchise resturant that has no soul and is run by a scammer and serves the cheapest blandest food possible at the highest prices but hey "at least its not the woke bar"

I could make the same argument about the printing press removing the personal touch of handwriting every copy of a book. Or of the photograph removing the painter's touch in recreating a landscape or a portrait. The fact is there's people like you in every generation who think that the new thing will ruin everything.
Truth is, it's not about the method used to produce art, it's about the vision the artist had more than the art itself, and whether or not the product fits with the vision the artist sought to bring to life.

>I could make the same argument about the printing press removing the personal touch of handwriting every copy of a book
i'm a complete faggot for marshall mcluhan so you picked the wrong person to use this argument with. the printing press was undeniably a world-historical revolution in productivity and Thought more broadly (read The Gutenberg Galaxy for 300-odd pages of deeply insightful anecdotes on this) but for all the innovation, automation, reduction of man-hours it offered it remained a tool contracted for very specific services. the "personal touch" of handwriting every copy of a book was pretty immaterial; the only literate people in pre-Gutenberg europe were monks and scribes and there was very little room in the transcription process for editorial or executive decisions. their role was to reprint the words exactly as written. they were not "creators" in any sense, certainly not the modern one, and they went almost entirely uncredited. i'm genuinely not sure there's any way you could compare their situation to the contemporary outsourcing of the most abstract, highest-level parts of the creative process. @grok write me a script for a david lynch movie
>Truth is, it's not about the method used to produce art, it's about the vision the artist had more than the art itself
in a sense this is the same argument i'm making. at no point prior to the advent of chatgpt et. al. could you outsource the idea itself. now there doesn't need to be an artist and there doesn't need to be a vision. a feature length film can be made without a single human being having had a thought about it. someone with a consumer-grade desktop PC can crank out dozens of these a day and not know what happens in a single minute of a single one of them. that doesn't sound like poisoning the well to you?
genuinely why do you guys shill for this stuff? it's anti-human and anti-art
>>
>>218656217
the biggest consumers of AI are jeets and niggers because they're too stupid to tell the difference. they're also the majority of AI "creators". enjoy the world you're building

>in a sense this is the same argument i'm making. at no point prior to the advent of chatgpt et. al. could you outsource the idea itself.
And this is why people actually do care more about the production to some degree. Before AI I'm pretty sure everyone remembers how elitists would say music made on the computer is not "real music" in their minds FL Studio and such was ChatGPT for them before it even existed. They believed it was a slot machine with no human touch behind it.
>>
>>218656653
and who are these "elitists"? can you name any who made such statements? your grandparents getting mad at you for "playing on the computer for too long" doesn't count

because that's how it was for me, every elderly person i knew thought anything computer adjacent was literal witchcraft. seriously grandma, it's called programming, i'm not playing video games jesus christ stop yelling at me
