Bone Tomahawk
>>218648964Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid or Blazing Saddles. BCaSK hits the sweet spot between overly campy John Wayne and muh-gritty-reinterpetation from the 90s on. Blazing Saddles is still super funny and probably always will be. Based Mel applies to Mel Brooks too. Also, I know it's reddit, but the Dollar's Trilogy is genuinely phenomenal. Honorable mention to Tombstone purely for the cast.

The Shootist
>>218653269i didn't understand the flashbacks really (some versions don't have them)were they both banging one woman?
Classic = Liberty ValenceGritty = Good, Bad, UglyPost Heaven's Gate = UnforgivenSomebody mentioned Shootist, which is also really good, but it's along the same lines as Unforgiven. Honorable mention though.
I forgot the name but there's a former cowboy who is retired as a preacher and he has this young ward. A man in black comes into town one day and gets in a shoot out and the boy dies. This causes the preacher to come outof retirement and hunt down the man in black who is his brother and it turns out the boy was the preacher's son but he kept it hidden because he was born out of wedlock.

>>218648964I'm going to go with "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" (1949). It's John Wayne being John Wayne. Nothing too complicated with the plot; lots of opportunities for John Wayne to spit out knowledge that would get anyone canceled these days.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJikQeKBfnQ

>>218656804There's a scene I always thought was well done:the setup:> the crooked indian agent has been secretly selling booze and guns to the natives> he's at their camp to sell guns> Wayne and his people can't do anything because they're transporting civilians> But they watch secretly from a distancethe scene:> the agents have cheated and insulted the natives, they're done> they attack the agent and his partner, and throw him live into the fire> cuts to wayne, and the 2 young officers he's trying to train up before he retires> all you hear in the background is the sound of the two men as they are being tortured and murderedThe dialog:> Wayne... Sergeant, your knife. (cuts off a piece of chewing tobacco and starts chewing> (you keep hearing screams)> Wayne (holding it out to the Sgt who gave him the knife... "join me in a chaw of tobacco?"> Sgt: "no sir, I don't chaw and I don't play cards"> Wayne "Chawing tobacco is a nasty habit... been known to turn a mans stomach> more screams as wayne turns and stares at the third person, another junior officers> third guy: "I'll take a chaw if you please sir"> third guy bites off a piece while staring at wayne, goes back to watching the natives murdering the guys
>>218648964The Magnificent Seven from 1960 is my favorite and probably the most comfy watch for me. I love the team building aspect of it. Also, even though it's kind of ridiculous, I love Young Guns.
Normalfag answer but I love Tombstone

>>218648964barrel band means carbine. that's weird as fuck for a carbine to have an octagonal barrel. not unheard of or impossible, but very rare.you could order a winchester however you wanted, so I know for a fact there were 1892s with barrel bands and octagonal barrels. but someone who bought an octagonal barrel usually bought the rifle with the end cap because they thought those were more accurate and carbines were lighter and round barrels were lighter
