He is the latest to be offered the role of Harvey Dent’s father Christopher Dent after Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgard and Daniel Craig all declined.

Holy fuck let capeshit die already
>>
>>218654225
Weird that they’ve been considering him, Guy Pearce, and Liam Neeson. The guy who played Ra’s Al Ghul in Begins, a guy who nearly played him and a guy who turned it down. Reeves could try a bit harder to distance himself
>>
>>218654225
>Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgard and Daniel Craig all declined
Is this not an indication of just how badly capeshit is viewed by the industry as a whole?
>>
>>218654365
>Reeves could try a bit harder to distance himself
Why would he do that? The Batman was just a bad remake of The Dark Knight. It's working for him so far
>>
>>218654225
>Harvey Dent’s father Christopher Dent
the role of a lifetime
>>
>>218654225
Don't think mortensen would ever play in capeshit, neeson on the other hand is a slopper through and through, just perfect
>>
>>218654312
It would but you keep bumping threads about it despite saying you don’t like it.
>Don't think mortensen would ever play in capeshit,
He was in History of Violence, a DC Comics movie. And let’s be honest, Lord of the Rings is capeshit

Capehaters continue to display evidence that they don’t really watch movies

Saw it, didn't seem like a superhero
>>
>>218654798
It’s based off of a comic
>>
>>218654870
Oh yeah searched about it after you mentioned it and it's true, though Cronenberg didn't know
>According to Bart Beatty, in his book "David Cronenberg's A History of Violence", David Cronenberg did not know that this movie was based on a paradox Press/Vertigo Comics graphic novel until after he signed on to direct. Cronenberg has stated that he does not care for superhero comics/films, feeling they are all adolescent at their core, no matter how dark, edgy or intelligent critics and fans alike feel they are. But the comic is not a superhero comic, as with most books published by Vertigo.

Brad Pitt reportedly wanted to do it, but had scheduling conflicts. Stellan Skarsgard apparently wants to take a break and stay in Sweden for a while. Daniel Craig doesn't want to do franchises anymore after Bond.

>after Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgard and Daniel Craig all declined.
Is the script THAT bad?
>>
>>218654225
The script must be pretty awful if everyone is turning the role down.
>>
>>218654225
The studio shooting for high paid A list actors to fill minor roles, is a huge mistake.
>>
>>218654225
What the fuck kind of story is he even trying to tell? What fucking difference does it make who plays Harvey Dent’s dad?
>>
>>218655116
>>218655126
See >>218655093

Craig and Pitt are also still viable leading man and probably still not willing to play supporting dad roles.
>>
>>218655093
>Stellan Skarsgard apparently wants to take a break and stay in Sweden for a while.
Yeah, he had a stroke, or something like that. The man needs a break.

>Daniel Craig doesn't want to do franchises anymore after Bond.
This is BS, though, because he keeps playing that gay detective character.

Anyway. Such weird choices, all of them. Really different vibes each.

>The Batman (2022)
How is it 4 years later and they're still looking for people to cast? Why is it taking so long to make one movie?
>>
>>218655624
Wb has changed ownership twice in the time since the first one was in production
>>
>>218655624
because Matt Reeves wanted to make a host of HBO series but only finished a Penguin one. now Gunn and the studio are waiting on Reeves to make the sequel to see if people want that over Gunn's batman and robin
>>
>>218655048
>Cronenberg has stated that he does not care for superhero comics/films, feeling they are all adolescent at their core
this pretentious faggot made his career off of “oh muh heckin body is mutating AHHHHHHH”. talk about a pot calling the kettle black
>>
>>218657162
>to see if people want that over Gunn's batman and robin
Gunn literally hired the two dipshits who directed and wrote The Flash to do Brave and the Bold so anyone with half a brain can see that movie is going to be dogshit until that team is fired.
>>
if you managed to make Batman boring you shouldn't be given a sequel
>>
if Christopher Dent is meant to die maybe offer the role to Sean Bean
>>
>>218654366
No it's because it's probably an irrelevant role
>>

You wouldn't rape an old man would you?

He's been in a couple of Cronenberg movies, The Road and some dramas.

>I went to the first few (Masters of Horror dinners), and it was a lot of fun. It was just fun. Just have dinner, talk, insult each other, and tell jokes.
>Then, you know, it sort of became something else.
>I think the night that got me was when David Cronenberg showed up and he is an old friend of mine. Unfortunately, he takes himself so seriously these days. He is an artist now,
>And literally, he was holding court in the middle of the room, and I came over to talk to him and he didn’t even look at me. I thought this is enough of this. Forget it. Goodbye.

Brad has shown that he is willing to play supporting and smaller roles if the material is good enough

I’m making a new character called the Gatman. He’s like the Batman, but he’s entirely gun-themed and all his gadgets are just different types of guns that do different things. The Gatmobile is basically a car built around a GAU-8/A Gatling gun, like a land-based version of an A-10 Warthog. The Gatwing *is* a teched-out Warthog.

And his only recurring villain will be the Toker - a mutant who generates a THC field so strong that anyone within a 5-mile radius is too stoned to care what he does.
